1. Close to Nothing *Finished*

Maisey-- the "weakling". The quiet one. The one everyone leaves out. The one no one understands. The one often called "loner" or "wimp". The one that does all that she can to understand others, but just can't. The one that finally meets the guy of her dreams, but there's no way he'll ever be into her.
Maisey... The one who has close to nothing to live for. But only one person can change that. But first, he'll have to notice her. Or maybe... she'll have to notice HIM.

17. Ice Cream @ 2 AM

Harry's POV

A cool breeze from the open bedroom windows rattled my body, causing me to wake up. As I went in to cuddle Maisey, I grasped nothing. Scrambling, I flipped on the lights to reveal an empty bed. She was gone.

"Maisey?" I called, running downstairs, stark naked. "Maisey, where are you?" The new house was so big that it was almost a maze to get around. I accidentally ran into a wall, expecting there to be a doorway, "Maisey?!" I was now yelling frantically, opening up the sunroom door. The cool air sent a shiver down my spine. Where could she be? I ran a hand through my curls, my chest tight.

"I'm right here," a cool voice said from behind me. I turned to see Maisey, holding a tub of vanilla ice cream and a spoon.

"Thank God," I breathed, wrapping her in hug and kissing the top of her head. "I thought you ran from me."

"Oh, Harry," she pecked me on the cheek, making her way back inside.

We'd been in the new house for about a month now. Eleanor and Louis were currently using one of the spare bedrooms while their house was being renovated. Earlier in the month, they found out Eleanor was pregnant, so they were going to add on a bedroom for the upcoming baby. We were settling in well, except for the whole 'getting lost' part. Maisey was now five (almost 6) months along, and only had about 2 1/2 months left. We had put together the baby's room within a few weeks of moving in. Maisey was definitely proud of it.

"Why are you up so early?" I held her waist as she faced me, leaning against the kitchen counter.

"Cravings," she admitted, smacking her lips.

"Ahh," I smirked, crashing my lips to hers. Her large belly was the only thing that separated us as I pressed my body into hers. "You're so beautiful, even when you're pregnant."

I felt her face grow heated as she kissed me again, tugging on my lower lip with her teeth.

"Stop it, Harry," she giggled, prodding my abs with her fingers. "Only two months to go." She pulled away, glancing down at her large belly. I bent down, putting my cheek to her stomach.

"I don't know if you can hear me, Hazel, but we're excited to meet you," I lifted me eyes to Maisey, who was tearing up. "If you're about ready to come out, please tell us."

Maisey shivered a little as we waited for something to happen. After a couple minutes, we were still waiting. I poked her stomach, running a finger down the front. I began to stand up in disappointment, just as a lump protruded from the center of her stomach.

"Holy crap!" I jumped back, then returned to her stomach, feeling it. "Was that what I thought it was?"

"I don't know," she laughed. "I can't see over this big thing! Try it again."

I poked her stomach again, then waited for any reaction. Within a few minutes, a clearly defined footprint poked at her skin.

"She's telling us something," I chuckled, looking up at Maisey, who bit her lip with a huge smile. "Can you feel her moving?"

"I can feel it when she kicks, for sure," she giggled, rubbing her stomach. "I just can't wait any longer, Harry!" She played with a strand of my hair, tangling the curls in her fingers.

"I can't either," I met her lips, placing a firm hand above her bum. Someone coughed behind us, making us both jump.

"Sorry to intrude," Louis smirked, Eleanor at his side. I rolled my eyes, pecking Maisey on the cheek as I closed the sunroom door.

"Cravings, huh?" Eleanor asked as she took a scoop of ice cream. Maisey nodded, shrugging.

"Have you had your first ultrasound yet, El?" Maisey asked.

"Yes," Eleanor glanced at Louis with a smirk. "We're having a girl."

"Eek!" Maisey squealed, hugging Eleanor. "This is all just going to be so perfect!"

Louis pulled me aside as the girls chattered on.

"Do you think you're ready, Haz?" he looked a little concerned. "For being a father?"

"Of course," I couldn't help but smile as I imagined greeting my daughter after a concert. "I couldn't feel more prepared."

"Alright," Louis smiled, gripping my shoulder. "To be honest, I am really excited to meet the little tike."

"Thanks, mate," I gave him a hug, returning to the girls.
