Emma was just a normal, average 16 year old girl bullied by her schoolmates. Something she wished would just stop, but has no courage to stop it. Derek is a jock, the star basketball player of Brentwood High School. Derek knows what he'll soon become, but just doesn't know when. Werewolves have been in his family for generations, and he knows he won't be able to stop it. He knows about imprinting, and knows he's just not ready for it. When he comes back to realization, he imprints on someone faster than he'd predicted. Emma.

2. Chapter 2: Emma

I sat in math finding it hard to concentrate. Everyone was still laughing about the incident in the hall. It didn't help that most of the kids in my math class were all mostly jerks to me. And it also didn't help that Derek sat in the desk right in front of me. But I tried my hardest to not pay attention to it. A paper ball hits the side of my head. Ouch! I run my fingers through my brown straight hair, massaging where it had hit. I look around to try and find who threw it. My eyes fix onto Eric, who has the biggest smile on his face. "Watch where you're going in the hall, dork face," he chuckles. He reaches over and high fives Derek. I look down at my paper in hopes that no one will see my embarrassed face. Derek turns around in his seat and taps me lightly on the head. I look up. Oh, he was gorgeous, but there was no possible way that "us" would happen. Don't get your hopes up, Emma. "You know Emma," his lips tug up into a slight smile. "You're actually really pretty." I blush. Was he talking to another Emma in the room or..? "Um.. Thanks." He smile grows bigger. "Pretty Ugly," he says and everyone breaks into a laughter. Tears well in my eyes. The bell rings and I grab my binders as fast as I can and hurry down the hall to the bathroom.
