Goliath had his city torn to shreds after Brazeedas of Athens stole it's resources. He embarks on a quest to take revenge, enlisting the help of his friend Septimus. But with the Gods watching and not in their favour, why did Brazeedas attack Sparta? And what secrets does his wife have? Monsters and fairytales roam as the Gods unleash hell on the one who doesn't pray...

14. The Villain Found

“I have killed us all. Our quest is over” Goliath hung his head as he did from the start. Diolace began to cry, and Septimus closed his eyes and thought of home. Not Athens, that was never a home. Sparta, where he could talk to friends, so hunting and have fun.

“Do not fear! You have my protection!” a voice boomed inside the three of their heads. The waves stopped and departed back to the sea.

“It is Zeus himself! He is with us! He is speaking to us!” shouted Septimus.

“Poseidon must be present also, the sea has retreated!” exclaimed Goliath. When the water disappeared, at the end of the alley, left by the rushing water, lay a bedraggled coughing man, lying on his front. Goliath ran to help him, but then realised it was Brazeedas.

“You disgusting man. You disgusting, insolent man. It is your fault all of this happened!” Goliath screamed.

“I, I did, did, not intend-

‘Did not intend? First to murder Diolace-

“I didn’t murder-

“You performed as good as, secondly you insult the Gods, and now they have destroyed your life as you did to us!”

“You people from Sparta, you, you are fighting, scum! You fight each other to the death, how do you live with yourselves?”

“We live we fight, we die. How can you live with yourself? You killed half of Sparta!”

“They deserved it! Those gorging pigs!”

“You came to Sparta, bragged of your riches and offered sanctuary to the poor. You even took my baby from me. You stole him, in the night. The night you came, that night of death, you butchered my town and poisoned the water wells, to butcher the leftovers. For fame. For honour, for glory. What kind of a man are you? Just because, there had been an attempt to kill you. Those men were protecting people who were close to them. And you slaughtered the whole town. We must settle this. You will meet me at sunset, where the arena used to be. You have brought this upon yourself Brazeedas.” Goliath trod on Brazeedas’s hand as he went, and Septimus spat on him. Brazeedas lay there, and whimpered.
