5. Sacrifice

The sun had fully risen, and in Athens Brazeedas and Diolace still lay asleep in their chambers. Then, a worried servant ramming into the doors, trying to find Brazeedas, shattered the silence. He ran into Brazeedas’s and Diolace’s chamber, and yelled:

“My lord, Septimus and Goliath have been sighted near the west balcony! What, what if they have an army? Brazeedas got up.

“Don’t you dare mention those names in my palace!” Brazeedas shoved past the servant. Diolace awoke.

“Brazeedas? What? What has happened?”

“Goliath and your brother have been sighted,” said Brazeedas angrily.

“Septimus? Here? In Athens?” Diolace exclaimed shocked. Brazeedas turned and struck her round the face, she looked up slowly in fear as tears rolled down her cheeks.

“Do not mention those names in my house!” He then ran to the statue of Zeus below the palace.

“Zeus it has to be now! It must be now! Goliath and Septimus must die! They must be disposed off from by land!” Brazeedas hung his head. Then he heard a voice.

“It shall come; the Sea Serpent will come. It shall need a sacrifice in order to be awakened, you must find someone.”

“Yes, yes my lord Zeus” he replied, relieved. Brazeedas ran to his room, and dragged Diolace who had fallen back into her slumber out of the bed. He stroked her head and all he could say were the last words he would ever say to her again.

  “Sorry.”

Diolace lifted her head drearily, and opened her sore eyes, then, she let out a muffled shriek, as seawater ran over her feet, she turned her head backward and forward frantically staring at her blue surroundings. She tried to throw her arms around, but they would not budge. They were bound with a thick, deadly, rope.

“Brazeedas? No! Please! Somebody! Help! Help me! Please! Brazeedas? I helped you! I thought I loved you!” she shouted at the palace, she then turned to see if anyone was around to help her but the first person she saw was her brother. The ground suddenly shook, she was splashed with more water, and as it dawned on her what was to come, she screamed:

  “Oh god. Oh God!”
