24. Death

“Goliath!” Diolace wailed through tears, “The antidote!” She then let out another bloodcurdling scream as grim poison now began to flood through her pale face.

Goliath turned sword in hand. And Brazeedas limped up the stairs.

“Come and get me! Come one!” Goliath screamed. With a final glance to Diolace and Septimus, he saw a tear and a faint nod in favour. Goliath then squatted and propelled himself at full force, sword above his head; he fell onto Brazeedas and stabbed the sword through his throat. Brazeedas’s head fell back as Septimus cheered and smiled. Diolace eased a smile.

“No!” shouted Diolace, she began to crawl forward, “Goliath!” Goliath rolled off the dead body of Brazeedas onto his own back, and something silver stuck out of his stomach. He leaned over and pulled the vile of antidote from Brazeedas, then groaned as Diolace beside and hugged him. She placed her green littered hand on his head. Her hand shook. She began to wail, scream and sob.

“Goliath no! You have to stay awake! Zeus please save him! Please! No! No!” Diolace screamed in pity and fear that her love will die.

“No! No!” She her words like a drama performance.

Septimus knelt beside them both. He wept. Goliath let one last breath, his eyelids drooped and he was still.
