7. Death in the Water

Goliath and Septimus stared at each other.

“Curse you Brazeedas,” screamed Diolace, “may the Gods burn your palace!”

“Diolace darling, shut up!” cackled Brazeedas.

“Damn you!,” whispered Septimus, under his breath, “ may hell rain on your cursed land!” Septimus jumped onto the raft, and it wobbled when he landed, he began slicing the ropes that bound Diolace to her death.

“Closer! And closer! And closer!” yelled Brazeedas, eyes wide and mad.

“He has gone mad!” Diolace screamed.

“He always was, how could you marry him?” Septimus shouted through the seawater.

“I’m sorry!’ I understand why you poisoned him.

They both smiled as they both knew they had been forgiven. The, the snake whipped its tail at Septimus and Diolace and they ducked. The serpent breathed fire, and shot sparks at the boat, Goliath pushed an oar on the left, and the boat moved out of the way of the flames.

“Septimus hurry! Grab the swords!” exclaimed Goliath,

“Just a minute!” responded Septimus, angrily. Goliath’s face looked alarmed as the Sea Serpent rose, opened its mouth, shot fire and lunged at the boat. Goliath swung the sword and cut the Serpent’s snout, it screamed and shrieked as Diolace and Septimus climbed onto the boat.

“Diolace get on that raft and get away!” said Septimus

“No! You are the only family I have left, I am not leaving you to die at Brazeedas’s vile hand!” Diolace claimed. The Serpent swung it’s tail, hard and quick, Diolace screamed and Goliath pushed her onto the wooden floor of the boat, as Septimus was hit and flung into the water.

“Septimus! No!” screamed Diolace, Septimus squirmed in the water, Diolace reached out her hand, and when her back was turned, the Serpents tail knocked Goliath on to his back, and lunged…

   “Diolace!” screamed Goliath.

   “Septimus!” shrieked Diolace.

   “Goliath!” coughed Septimus.
