I jumped slightly as I spun on my heels to face the source of my interruption, Harry.
"You scared the hell out of me!" I said, maybe a little too loud, earning a strange look from an old lady trying to decide between value beans or Heinz beans. "What are you doing here?" I asked, trying to avoid the impending question Harry had previously asked.
"Sorry, I'm getting food for a friend who wouldn't get off his lazy arse from playing fifa to get it himself." He laughed before pausing, his forehead furrowing, "Earlier, why did you hide from me?"
I searched my head for a suitable answer, but found nothing.
"I - don't know." I sighed, letting my eyes wander away from Harry's face. "I'm sorry."
"Hey, don't be sorry. You've got nothing to be sorry for, I was just curious.". He smiled reassuringly. "How come you're here then?"
"My friend Tali, she ran out of popcorn."
"Tali...is she the one you were with earlier?"
I nodded, a smile growing on my face as I imagined her reaction if she were standing with me in the presence of her idol.
"She a fan?" Harry asked, clearly already knowing the answer.
"Just a bit." I laughed.
By now, we had both made our way over to the self-service checkout, Harry having picked up a bottle of coke, haribos, Pringles, a bunch of bananas and the necessary ingredients for nachos.
"What about you, are you a fan?" He asked as he stood at the till next to me, scanning each object one by one.
"Music's good, but I'm not like Tali. Not that crazy." I replied slowly. As I paid for the food, out of the corner of my eye I noticed Harry's forehead furrow, his eyes studying my face. I shifted nervously at the unwanted attention being given to me, and pulled the receipt from the machine before walking behind Harry and round to his other side and waiting for him to finish paying.

I hooked the carrier bag onto my arm and shoved my hands into my pockets as we exited the shop and began walking back down the road I had previously come from.
"Smile." Harry said as he nudged my arm with his, "Your so pretty when you do." The corner of his mouth pulled upwards, displaying a dimple.
I was surprised by his words but forced a smile onto my lips.
"What's wrong?" He asked his forehead once again furrowing.
"Nothing, I'm just tired." I replied, repeating the crappy excuse that I regularly used.
"Mmhmm." He mumbled, not sounding convinced as he slowed to a halt at the corner of the street. "I'm going this way." He gestured down another road with his thumb. "Will you be okay?" He asked seriously.
"Why wouldn't I be?" I questioned following Harry's eyes as they flickered behind us, settling on a figure unsteadily making their way in our direction. "I'll be fine." I murmured, slightly unsure but not wanting to cause a fuss.
"I'll see you around maybe?" His tone was cautious.
"Erm...I suppose."
He smiled as I turned and began walking back down the street, mentally debating whether or not to tell Tali what just happened, before finally realising she was going to find out one way or another, if it was from me explaining it to her or it somehow ending up on twitter.
As I grew closer Tali's house I could hear heavy footseps closing the distance behind me; what did Harry want now? By now I just wanted to get back to Tali's warm house and enjoy the popcorn and ice cream I had just bought.

A firm hand grasped my wrist, pulling me round to face the owner of the footsteps.
"Har-" I began as I spun on my heels from the sudden force.
It wasn't Harry.
Stood in front of me was a man that looked roughly in his twenties, his unkempt hair poking through his tattered baseball cap and a thin layer of stubble across his chin.
"Heeeey babyy," The guy slurred as he brought his free hand up to the side of my face. My breathing became irregular as fear made its way through my body, my legs becoming unable to make any attempts to escape, even though Tali's house was just metres away and my voice being incapable of making any audible sound. "You're so prettyy." He continued as he stroked my cheek, the strong smell of beer radiating from his mouth.
"Please, don't." I begged, finding what little strength I had to try and push past him. My attempt clearly failed as he grabbed a hold of my shoulders pinning my body up against the brick wall behind me, the back of my head connecting with the hard, cold stone with considerable force as I dropped my carrier bag.
"You're not going aaanywhere. I want to have some fuuunn first." I knew I had no other hope as he pushed me further back up against the wall, if that was possible by now. As he brought his face close to mine, I closed my eyes and waited for what I knew was coming, but it never did. Instead the heavy weight was lifted from me, allowing me to breathe clean air. I opened my eyes and saw Harry standing with his back to me, his hands clasped firmly around the drunk's jacket, their faces inches away from each other.
"...don't you fucking touch her." I just about heard Harry growl before releasing his grip and letting the guy stumble away into the darkness.
It was all too much. My legs finally gave way beneath me and I sank to the floor, wrapping my arms around my knees and letting the single tear roll down my cheek, a tiny sob escaping my lips. Harry turned back to face me, his angry features softening as he crouched down beside me and laid a hand on my back, rubbing in gentle circles.
"Shhh, he's gone. Its okay, he's gone. Come on, I'll take you home." He carefully lifted me so we were both standing side by side.
"Its fine, I'll be fine. Tali lives just there." I replied, my voice shaking as I gestured towards a house a few doors down.
"Hannah, your head's bleeding and you can barely take two steps in front of you."
I reached up behind my head and felt the trickle of a warm liquid on my hand.
"Come on." He repeated, picking up my dropped shopping and guiding me towards Tali's front door, eventually knocking three times on the shiny painted surface.
"This is going to be interesting." I muttered under my breath as we heard footsteps making their way closer and closer to the front door...
