30. Beautiful Place

Niall's POV:

Me and Millenia were cuddled toghether on the couch by the fireplace. I really loved it when she was close by me, our heat creating a comfortable atmosphere. The hot cocoa mum made was delicious, the fire made the house nice and toasty, and Millenia and I were just chatting about life. This moment couldnt get any better.

I saw that Millenia's eyes kept dragging opened and closed.

'Wanna head to bed, babe?" I ask her as I take the cup of hot chocolate from her hands.

"Yeah." She says but it sounded more like a mumble than it did a reply.

'Okay." I say and I grab her small body and carry her bridal style to the room.

I lay her down on the huge bed as I pull the covers over her chest. I climb into the other side of the bed as I pull her body closer to mine.

"Goodnight babe." I say as I kiss her temple.

I saw a smile spread across her lips as I drifted off to sleep.

*Morning time*

It was going to be our last day in Mullingar and then we were heading back to my flat in Dublin. Then me and Millenia could finally be alone. I mean, dont get me wrong, I love my mum and Greg but I just wanted some time alone with her. Its been hard to do that with the tour but now that its over, I finally can.

I let Millenia sleep in because I knew that last night she was really tired and it was also cold. I just left the bed slowly and quietly and left the room to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and fixed my messy bed hair and joined my mum for breakfast.

"Goodmorning sweetheart." Mum says as she greets me with a big smile and a kiss on the cheek.

"Goodmorning mum." I say as I return the favor. "Where's Greg?"

"Oh, he had to go to work earlier today but he will be back later. He said that he wants to take you and Millenia out to Nandos tonight for dinner since he never gets to see you and he thinks that it would be nice to get to go out with you guys."

"That would be great! I'm glad that I will be able to spend time with him. I'm also going to take Millenia out this afternoon so I can take her to the park that I used to love to go to as a kid. What time did Greg say that he was going to take us out?" I say.

"He said that he would be back by 6:00 and get ready and stuff and then leave by 7 or 7:15." Mum replies.

"Okay. Thats great. That gives me and Millenia plenty of time to go out and enjoy the day."

"Yea. OKay, now go serve yourself some breakfast. I bet your starving." She says with a chuckle.

"Oh mom, you know me so well." I say as I laugh and peck her on the cheek.

I served myself some breakfast and set a plate aside for Millenia. I knew that she was going to wake up soon.

*After breakfast*

"So guess what we're going to do today?" I say to Millenia as we start heading back upstairs to get ready.

"Where??" She says as her eyebrows begin to furrow at my question.

"To one of my favorite places in the whole world." I reply.

"And where's that?" she asks.

"You'll see when we get there."

It took us about 45 minutes to get fully ready. Millenia looked beautiful as always but she dressed extra warm today knowing that last night she nearly caught frostbite.

"Oh and Greg wants to take us out to Nandos tonight. Does that sound good?" I ask as we start grabbing our coats to head out the door.

"Thats great!" She says. She was really happy that Greg liked her. So was I.

I led Millenia to the car as I opened up the passenger door and allowed her in.

"So can you tell me where we're going now?" She asked as I sat in the drivers seat.

"Oh okay. We're going to a park where I used to go to all the time as a kid. My dad used to take me when he and my mom were still together. But its not just any park, its the most beautiful park you will ever see. Flowers cover the trees in the spring and summer. The leaves turn shades of red and orange in the fall. The snow covers the branches as the ice glistens in the winter. Its just beautiful." I say as I lose myself as I imagine going there as a child.

"Wow. I cant wait to see it." Millenia says as her eyes become wide with fasciantion.

We finally got to the park about a half an hour later. It looked a bit different than what I remember but it was still the same old park.

As we entered to the parking lot, you could see the winter sun reflecting off the lake water and the geese flying overhead heading to some place warmer.

"It is beautiful." Millenia says.

"Yeah. Imagine it in the summer!" I say as I emphasize my sentence.

"Ready to explore?" I ask. She nods as I grab her hand and we head to the walking trails.

We walked by the lake through the deep forest where it started to get colder due to the shade of the branches. I saw Millenia begin to shiver at the contact of the winter air.

"Are you cold babe?" I ask her.

"Yea. But im fine." She says. I felt bad. It was the wrong time to take her to Ireland. Especially in the middle of January but she really wanted to come meet my family and my family wanted to meet her as well.

"Do you want me to give you one of my jackets? I'm already used to Irish weather and I dont want you to feel uncomfortable while I try to enjoy my day with you."

"Thank you Nialler." She says as she pecks my cheek. I take off my giant coat and remove one of the layers of light jackets as I hand it to her and she carefully puts it on.

"Better?" I ask.

"Much better."

I intertwine my fingers with hers as we walk down to the waters edge and enjoy a nice talk and maybe a few kisses here and there.

A few hours later, we decided to start heading back home. It was 4:00 and Greg was coming home at 6 and we still needed to get ready and maybe have a late lunch.

*home*

Millenia's POV:

"How was your day?" Maura asks me.

"It was great. The park was beautiful and it was nice to be able to spend some quality time with Niall." I reply.

"Thats good. So are you excited to be able to go out with the Horan brothers tonight?" She adds in.

"Oh yes. I'm very excited." I say as we both begin to laugh.
