6. Chapter 6 - Niall

"So, basically, Niall and I are siblings." Megan explains.

The group around us all either splutter on their drinks or let their jaws hit the floor. They all fire questions at us.

"Guys!" I yell. "Shut it and we'll answer your questions."

The table quietens down but they all keep their gazes on either me or Megan. Mostly, Megan's friends look at her while the boys look at me. Except for two guys who seemed to fangirl when they saw us, they look at me.

"Okay, First we'll explain why we kept you all in the dark about this." Megan begins, sending her calm and kind smile to everyone around the table. "Niall? Would you like to explain?"

"Alright." I say with a nod. "Basically, when I went off to X Factor, Megan had already become popular on YouTube and when One Direction was formed, we both agreed that so Megan wouldn't get bombarded with questions about the band, neither of us would mention the other."

"Can I ask a question?" One of the fangirling boys asks, looking from me to Megan.

"Sure. What is it, Marcus?"

"Why weren't you on X Factor, supporting him?" He asks.

"Because, I'd just moved across to Aberdeen for my university and we all agreed that it was too far to travel all the time so instead, we Skyped and called each other straight after the shows. And even thought I didn't watch X Factor, I still voted for Niall and One Direction because I wanted to support my brother." Megan tells the group.

"So, you're a fan, then?" Harry asks Megan.

She shakes her head slightly. "Not really, I haven't heard you guys performing properly." She admits.

"Really? Not even from Niall?"

"I've heard Niall sing but I haven't heard all of you sing together." She explains.

"Well, we can let here just now if you'd like?" Zayn offers. Marcus and the the other fan-boy freak out, nodding feverishly. Megan's  other friends all look excited but not over the top like the fan-boys.

"Well, it's up to you boys. I mean, we're in the middle of dinner and in the centre of a restaurant." Megan points out.

"How about after dinner, we all go back to our place and they can sing there. I can call Alex and get him and Charlie to set up the mics and stuff. I don't think they're busy tonight." A girl I recognise as Tom Fletcher's sister, Carrie says.

"That sounds cool, you guys up for it?" Zayn asks me and the other boys. We all nod our heads and look to Megan.

"Sure. But first, let's have dinner." Then as if on cue, a waitress walks up, notepad in hand with a blunt-looking pencil in her other hand. I quickly scan my menu and decide on what to have. Everyone tells the waitress what they want and I do too when she comes to me.

Once we order, Carrie excuses herself from the table with her phone in hand and walks towards the toilets. The rest of us at the table make small conversations amongst ourselves. The fan-boys talk with Harry and Louis, Two boys with side fringes talk to each other. Megan chats with a blonde-haired guy, her boyfriend, Joe. I looked up Joe, to see what he looked like and how he acted to see if he is a good match for my sister. So far he appears to make her happy so that's one plus to add to the list.

I stare at Joe, watching his every move. Studying him intensely. I love my sister more than anything so the last thing I want is for some jerk to come along and break her heart into a million pieces.

Megan must notice my glare because she waves her hand in front of my face, saying "Niall? Niall? Earth to Niall?"

"What?" I ask her, slapping her hand away from my face. Being the melodramatic girl she is, she clutches her hand in the other and curls up under Joe's arm, whimpering and fake-crying. I can tell the difference as whenever Greg would annoy her, she'd fake cry and blame Greg, getting him in trouble and her the sympathy vote. She then taught me to do it but I'll never be ask good as she is.

"Niall!" Liam quietly shouts at me. "What'd you do to Megan?"

"She should know to keep her hand away from my face." I tell him simply. The other boys look at me in shock for hitting my sister and begin comforting her, including Louis saying that he'll lock me in my room for a few hours when we get back even though he knows that it'll just set off my claustrophobia.

"Still! She's your sister! You don't hurt your sister, even if they are older. I should know, I've got two." Liam continues.

"Li?" I gain his attention. "You do know she's faking right?" The boys look from me to Megan as she uncurls from Joe's arm and smiles brightly at the boys. Her cheeks are still the same shade they normally are and her eyes are still bright blue. Megan's friends all look casual as if this is a normal occurrence for them; Megan acting out.

"Yep, I'm fine." Megan tells them.

"She's an expert at over-reacting and being melodramatic." I tell them, her friends nod their heads.

"Hey! I don't overact that much!" She says to her friends.

"Megan, You do. You can't deny it." Carrie tells her bluntly.

"Name 3 times!" Megan demands.

"Okay. When you were uploading a video and it said that it'd take 4 hours, you sulked like a little kid, demanded I fed you ice cream until it uploaded and when I said no, you attacked me with a pillow." Carrie says, looking right at Megan.

"Well, you know I'm impatient." Megan points out. "Name another!"

"Fine, I've got one." Says one of the side-fringe boys.

"Okay, tell me Dan."

"Right, once you were round at mine and Phil's for a movie night. We were all prepared; Mountain of films, DVDs and Blu-Rays, cozy blankets, popcorn. Everything we needed. You came round, in your onesie, ready to watch the films. We gave you popcorn, tasted one and then began shrieking 'This is not Butterkist toffee popcorn!' and you went on and on. Then you sat outside the door to our flat and refused to come in until we had Butterkist." Dan explains.

"It ended in me running to the local Tesco and buying 5 bags." The other boy adds.

"And all five bags were delicious. Thanks again, Phil." Megan winks at the boy, Phil. "But still, everyone knows that I only like Butterkist toffee popcorn."

"Megan, what about our third date?" Joe asks. Megan looks at him, confused.

"What about it?"

"We were walking in the park and when you were cold, I gave you my jacket like the gentlemen I am. But you just shrugged it off, saying something about how you 'don't need a charity jacket'. You were obviously cold so I kept putting it back on you so in the end, you threw it in the pond. Luckily it wasn't one of my favourite or expensive jackets. Then we were walking back, you started complaining about how you were cold and wish you had a jacket."

"Well...." Megan looks like she's thinking hard for a retort. When she fails she just says "Fine. I'm melodramatic, but it's why you all love me."

"True." We all chorus.

The food arrives soon after and we all dig in, enjoying our food and engaging in more conversation.
