6. You Better Get Used To It

The boy walked over to me. "What the hell is your problem?" he asked angrily. "W-what ar-" he cut me off and stood right infront of me so we were only inches apart from eachother. "What kind of person would come over here by themseves and not expect to get in harm's way?" he laughed bitterly. "Especially an innocent goody goody like you. Stick to your side of town from now on. I don't feel like getting into fights just to protect you from things you could've perfectly avoided yourself. And while you're over there maybe you could pick up some common sense." he spat out. He was furious and to tell you the truth I was angry now too. A sudden burst of confidence caused by my anger at what he just said rushed through my veins. "Look no one told you, you had to protect me! That was your own doing not mine! So don't start scolding me like I'm a child. Last time I checked you aren't my dad." I spat back. His  eyes darkened once again and he began to clench and unclench his fists. My eyes widened at what I had just said to him even after I had witnessed what he was capable of doing. It made me sound ungrateful for what he had done. "What did you just say?" he asked after taking a deep breath trying to calm himself down. I just stared at him not daring to answer back anymore. He ran a hand through his messy brown hair, still trying to relax himself a bit. "Answer me God damn it!" he shouted realizing I wasn't going to talk back. He punched the car only centimeters away from where I stood causing me to flinch. A dent was now visible where he had slammed his fist into the already beat up vehicle. I looked back up at him frightened. I've never been so scared of someone in my life. He was about to say something when we heard a loud groan startling the both of us. "Ashley!" I shouted while running over to her. She was sitting up, rubbing a huge bump on her forehead that the man had left there. "C'mon Ash, let's get you inside." the boy said while helping her up and leading her into the house. He looked back at me just before he was about to shut the door. "You coming or what?" he asked coldly. I stood there hesitantly before followong them inside. I had no intention of walking home on my own.

Once we were inside the boy hurried off to get an ice pack leaving Ashley and me in the living room. We sat there in complete silence. Neither one of us knew what to say after all that just took place. A few seconds later the boy rushed in and handed Ash an ice pack. "Thanks Louis." she mumbled gratefully. My eyes shot up at the mention of the name. Louis noticed and looked at me oddly. "What?" he asked almost defensively. "Nothing." I said a little to quickly causing him to smirk. I looked down at the floor as my cheeks turned bright red. Louis then plopped down on the couch next to me. He threw one of his tattooed arms around my shoulder as if it was the most casual thing in the world. I glared at him. "Do you mind?" I said coldly. My words didn't seem to affect him at all. He stared at me intently before leaning in slowly and whispering in my ear. "You better get used to it, love. Like I said earlier, you're mine."
