Written in the Sand

Daisy lives in a small beach town with her alcoholic mother. She has learned to take care of herself and has took her life into her own hands. The only thing keeping her sane is the beautiful ocean, until she meets someone who has the chance to change Daisy's life forever.

1. My Life

Daisy's P.O.V
I ran as fast as I could away from that house, away from my mother. The tears were threatening to fall, but I held myself together. I ran past the small shops, past the marina, and didn't stop until I felt soft sand beneath my feet. I walked through the public beach calmly, so I didn't disturb anyone. I live in the small town of Seahawk by the west coast. I loved this town. I loved the constant sun, the trees everywhere and I loved the ocean. My mother is a full out alcoholic and can disappear for days at a time. When she finally does return home, she usually has a hangover and makes my life miserable. I have considered suicide so many times, and usually I never brought myself to it, except for the one time. This town was my saviour, whenever I needed to leave the house, I would run to the ocean and just sit, with my feet in the water and find a strange calm come over me. That's where I was heading now. There was a place through the trees, with a bunch of boat docks rarely used. I headed down the path through the trees, hearing the ocean roaring to the right. I reached the docks and rushed to the end of one, kicked off my runners and dipped my toes in the water. The waves lapped up and splashed my legs. I finally let a few tears fall until that familiar calm washed over me. I sat there, my face tilted towards the sun and stayed there until I heard a voice.

Matt's P.O.V
After being in the car for 8 hours, it was amazing to stretch my legs and feel the heat on my shoulders. My family and I had driven to my aunt's summer house in Seahawk. The last time I was here, I was too little to remember, but I loved this place already. I helped my dad unpack the car and place all our luggage in the house. We would be staying here the entire summer. After unpacking, I decided to go for a quick walk. I headed down the road from my aunt's house straight down to the beach. It was a hot day and it was packed with people. Women tanning, men drinking ice cold beer and children running and screaming. At the end of the beach was a path leading into the trees, so my adventure instinct told me to follow it. It was a forest path leading to a bunch of boat docks. I was about to turn around when I saw movement. Curiously, I went towards it and realized it was a girl. I could only see her back, but it was a beautiful back. Her long blonde ponytail shone in the sun and her dark blue T-shirt fitted her perfectly.
"Hello?" I said softly. She turned abruptly. She looked sad, and also angry.
"Do I know you?" She said. I shook my head and smiled. The girl got up and wiped away a tear quickly.
"Nope" I replied "I'm Matt, Matt Sanders"
"That's great" she said "I have to go. Bye" she walked off the dock and started to run.
"Wait! What's your name?" I called after her. I felt the need to know the girl. But she didn't answer me and kept running, until she disappeared through the trees.
