My Extended Family

Hi. I'm Layla. I'm 17 years young by the way. :) I'm Zayn's little sister. Its just us, I don't have any other siblings and I'm kind of excited because I get to meet Zayn's band tonight! I'm not real talkitive, so I hope his friends have a lot to talk about. I'm really happy for Zayn. I know he loves to sing and be with the boys and I just hope they'll like me as much as they like him... Zayn is a really good artist and I enjoy watching him draw. He is a really good DJ,too. I love to try to make my own mixes in the 'mix house' when Zayn's not around. Don't tell him though!!He'd probably kill me! That's all for now, got to go!

10. Where to find Layla

Niall's P.O.V.

The night was going fine, we had a long consert, Zayn got to meet a little girl and her sister, Harry forgot his phone. What's new with that? Same, normal, dull, rutine. I mean, its not dull, there are the little surprizes, but to this nightmare we have walked into, all of that is nothing.

We had walked up to our hotel to have a nice evening, instead we find Layla missing. Gone. Poof. I mean that just doesn't happen. I mean in movies this shit happens all the time, but not in real life. I had listened to Layla's frantic message and almost rung Zayn's neck for not answering when he had the chance. Not much we could have done about it, but at least we would have known.

We're all sitting on the couches in the living room area now. Just wondering what to do. Zayn doesn't know of anyone who would do this and none of us have known her long enough to become close friends. She hasn't met Elle or Dani yet so they were out, too.

I rack my brain for anything and then I remember when Layla had come back from the gym, was it yesterday?, anyway, she had looked really shaken. She wouldn't tell me what was wrong. No, wait, it was this morning, god I get so mixed up. We had only gotten here today. I don't know how that would help though, I mean I don't even know what she was scard about. I don't think I should bring it up.

I notice something half slid under the couch. I reach and pick it up. It's a folded peice of paper. I read it and I don't know what to think, so I read it again, out loud, "Layla, dear. I've found you at last. And this time, I promise. I won't let you go." I look up to see all the boys staring at me. I hold out the peice of paper and Zayn carfully takes it from me. He reads it over and over.

"I don't get it." Zayn finally says. "She only had a few friends, no enemis really, and she only dated one guy that I know of, his name was, well, I think it was Kyle, it was a couple of years ago..." He trails off.

"Well, what do you know about Kyle? Does he have any reason to hold a grudge with Layla?" Harry asks. Finally, we might be getting somewhere.

"No, he was a good guy, the only grudge he would have against anyone would be against me, I didn't excatly like the fact my sister was dating him for a while. I got used to it eventually though. I don't think the guy's capable of this. He was a little on the soft hearted side, if you know what I mean." Zayn spaces a moment before he snaps back to the conversation.

"What's that?" Louis asks pointing to the couch Harry and Zayn are sitting on. Zayn was sitting in the spot I guess Layla was sitting because that side of the couch is right infront of the telly and it had a bowl and a glass over there as well. Zayn looks around where he's sitting and pulls out an open notebook from inbtween the couch cusions.

"Her sketch book, slash journal, I guess." He says flipping through some pages. He goes back to the page that it was open. He reads it and furrows his brow.

"What is it Mate?" Liam asks.

"It talks about a boy named Jase. I wonder if she mentioned-." Zayn cuts himself short.   He rips his phone out of his pocket and starts dialing a number. Liam, Harry, Lou and I just exchange glances as Zayn listens to the phone ring.

Zayn's P.O.V.

I did not like where this was heading. Once I read the open page of Leah's journal my gut renched. I never knew this Jase guy, but from what she writes it seems he's been giving her trouble. I deside to call Mum up. If Layla had any trouble, she would go to Mum or Ashley, her best friend for advice. I deside to try Mum first, I really didn't want to ring up Ashley if I didn't have to, I didn't know her that well. I dial Mum's number and wait for her to pick up. Come on, pick up, pick up, I chant in my head as the rings go by.

"Hey, baby." Mum greats me.

"Hey, Mum, did Layla ever mention a boy named Jase to you?" I ask as I try to think of a reason to be asking her this.

"No, why?" She asks, a little worried.

"Oh, no reason, it was just a dare that Layla had to do, this game thing, well, we've got to get on with the game so talk to you later, ok?" I say giving her a lame excuse.

"Ok, well, tell Layla I wish her luck in this game your playing, and don't pick on her too much Zayn Jawaad." Mum says stearnly.

"Of corse not Mum, love you." I say.

"Love you too, Zayn, bye." Mum replys and I hang up. I sigh and type in Ashley's number. I let my finger hover over the call button before I give in and hit it.

"Yes, this is Ash." Ashley says cheerily.

"Hey, Ash, its Zayn, I was wondering, did Layla ever mention anything about a, Jase?" I ask, hoping she said yes.

"Um, who's asking? Can I talk to Layla?" Ash says quickly, she suddenly sounds nurvase.

"Um, you might want to sit down and you have to promise not to tell anyone." I say.

"Yeah?" Ash whispers into the phone.

"I'm asking, because, well, Layla went missing and she was writting in her journal about a boy named Jase, and how he finally found her.

"OH. MY. GOD." Ash cries on the other side.

"Ash! Call down! What?" I ask despretly wanting to know what was going on.

"I...I can't tell you..." Ash stutters.

"You have to Ash. I don't care about what Layla said, you have to help me. Its the only thing we've got!" I say trying to convince her.

"Layla's gonna kill me. Layla's gonna kill me." Ash whispers.

"Ash!" I cry, Ashley wasn't focused. She is now as useful as knowing the name Jase.

"OK, ok," She breaths, "Layla dated Jase for a while after Kyle left for America. He...he wasn't very nice to her Zayn. I can't tell you, but, she couldn't get out of their relationship fast enough. And trust me Zayn, when she finally did, she was never the same. He must have finally found her. I helped her change herself so he wouldn't recegnize her. I saw him a few day's ago talking about going to a place called, David's Home. I don't know what it was about, but, if he took her, he's probubly there. Good luck Zayn, I have to go. Find her fast,-" Ashley stops and whispers the last part so softly I almost don't catch it and its said more to herself then me, "or, or find her not at all." Ashley hangs up and I'm left listening to the buzz of the dead line.

What was going on?!
