13 years later~

I was sitting at the lunch table moving around my peas with my fork.  All the girls around me were chattering excitedly about prom and make up and dresses.  They weren't really my friends.  Unless by 'friends' you mean me standing around them half-listening to their conversations and not saying anything.  Then yeah, they're my friends.

"What about you Alexis?"  Eva asked me.  I snapped out of my daze and looked at her.

"I'm sorry what?"  I asked.  I saw a bunch of girls roll their eyes at me.  Eva was the only kind and patient one.

"Are you going to prom?"  she asked and smiled.  I looked over to the table across from me to the a boy with brown curls, green eyes, and dimples.  He was surrounded by at least 10 girls talking about prom.  He caught my gaze and smiled at me.  My heart dropped to my stomach and I looked away quickly.  My cheeks were burning red.

Eva caught all of this and grinned at me " Harry totally has the hots for you."  she whispered.  I jumped up and felt my face turn bright red.  "Oh no, we're only childhood friends we never really talk anymore anyways I'm practically invisible to him he deserves so much better-"  I was going to ramble on but Eva put her hands on my shoulders and looked at me seriously.

"Alexis Greene,  you are by far the prettiest girl that I know so don't you dare say those kind of things.  It would be an honor, and honor, to go to prom with a girl like you.  Harry would be damn lucky to even be seen with you. You are a gem Lexi. Never forget that."  she said.  I nodded my head vigorously.

I guess Eva was my only best friend.  She's the only one that has the patience to talk to me.  She has wavy dark chocolate hair and warm amber eyes.  Her teeth were bleach white and straight.  She was the most popular girl in school because she was nice to everyone.  But sometimes she can be down right intimidating.

She stood up and picked her tray up to dump it.  She stopped mid way and turned around to look at me.

"Also Lexi,  I'm always right about these things." she looked over at Harry then at me and winked before she went to the garbage bin.  I smiled but I didn't believe her.  He barely says hi to me anymore.  He's outgoing, handsome, funny and I'm just a wallflower.  I shook my head but a tiny part of me wanted to believe her.  Just a tiny bit.
