Do you Remember (a Harry love story)

Alexis and Harry have been friends since they were 5. Their feelings for each other have been growing since then until Harry makes a horrible mistake. Will Alexis forgive him and love him again? Or will she hate him for the rest of his life for shattering her heart.

7. Chasing pavements

So this is how die huh? Death by falling. I sadly accepted my fate and felt gravity pull me down until I felt two strong pair of hands catch me.

"Are you okay?" Harry asked with genuine concern in his eyes.

I quickly stood up and ran my hand through my hair.

"Yeah. Thanks for catching me." I said a little flustered. God Alexis you're such a clutz.

"You were always clumsy. Even when you were little." He said teasing me. I was about to laugh with him but I caught myself and gave him a cold look.

"Says the guy who 'accidentally' fell on top of my best friend in my bed at my own birthday party." I said sharply. Okay maybe that was a little harsh but I can't let him under my skin. I wasn't quite ready to trust him yet.
I could feel him flinch and I instantly regretted it. Because those words hurt both of us. He just picked up my bags and went to his car with a blank face. I couldn't read his emotions. So i just gave up and followed him.

The car ride was painfully long and awkward. So I decided to turn the radio on without his permission. It was a bad habit of mine. My favorite song Chasing Pavements by Adele was on and I instantly started singing along.

"Should I give up
Or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads no where
Would it be a waste even if I knew my place
Or Should I leave it there..."

I finished the song with a soulful note. I felt the happiest when I was singing. It was my passion ever since I was little. I realized with shock that Harry was in the car with me. I looked over at him and he was smiling at me. His eyes were now bright green and twinkling. His dimples were showing and he was giving me a crooked smile.

"That was great! I didn't know you could sing that well. You should consider being professional." He said. He looked longingly into my eyes.

"I appreciate it but its just a hobby. I don't intend on making it a carreer. Say, shouldn't you be driving?" I asked and looked out. We were already at his house. I blushed with embarrassment.
"How long have we been here?!" I asked.
He shrugged. "About 5 minutes." He said nonchalantly. I stared at him with my mouth wide open. I was so focused on my song that I didn't even realize the car stopped moving.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked.
"I didn't want to interrupt you. Your voice was beautiful and you looked so... Happy." He said.
I didn't know what to say so I just got out of the car and walked towards the house. I smiled knowing that someone thought my voice was beautiful. I never let anyone listen to my singing because I'm too shy about it. I would go help get my bags but I decided not to. After all, I did give him a free performance.
