Like A Love Song *Sequel to February 14, 2013*

After what felt like forever, he finally looked up at me. It frustrated me so much that I couldn't see his face in the darkness. The lights beaming behind him made it even harder to tell. I could barely see the smirk on his face. He took a step closer while I was frozen on the spot, our bodies almost touching.
"Hello beautiful."

7. Quality Time

Jenna's POV:

"Have a good day at school, honey!" My mum called out as I was rushing out the door. Friday at last, I knew today would be a good day. "Do you want to make plans sometime this weekend? I haven't gotten to be with my baby girl in forever!" She said in a baby-voice. We used to hang out all the time, but since school work piled in and I was hanging out with the guys, I haven't spent much quality time with my parents. "Sure, I can hangout tonight. Marilyn wanted to make plans but I'm pretty sure she's doing somethin' with Liam." My mum smiled and gave me a hug goodbye, then shooed me out the door so I wouldn't be late.

I still haven't told her exactly about dating Zayn, not that it's hard for her to tell. I've been dropping hints all the time, blushing whenever his names mentioned.

Ah, the honeymoon phase.

It's been a week since he asked to be my boyfriend, so far there's no regrets. Everyone's been happy for us. Niall was the nicest, which I was a little surprised at myself considering how long he was ignoring us. I guess he got over whatever was bothering him. I saw Niall leaning up against the front of his shiny red car, eating a late (I guess 9 AM is 'late' now) breakfast and talking to a friend I didn't recognize. "Hey Ni!" I greeted him in the parking lot. He smiled over at me then directed his attention back on his sandwich and friend.

I walked up to my locker with Harry, just like I always have. It was a nice routine. He always had something exciting or funny to say, which I don't understand. How could one be so energetic and happy this early?

Zayn must be just as confused. He gave Harry a weird look as he walked over to us, dragging his feet and slumping his shoulders. "Well good morning, sunshine." Harry teased. Zayn gave him a glare, only to be followed by a laugh. I smiled at him as I finished putting things up in my locker. "Hello, love." He said, leaning over to kiss me on the cheek. "Hey!" I said cheerfully. Just seeing him brightened my mood more than ever.

Gosh, this is so weird.

Louis eventually joined in on our conversation before advisory, then all of us went on about our day. Niall finally sat with us at lunch again.

Even though he was talking, he still only sat with Liam at lunch. Wouldn't let anyone join them. Sometimes Harry, but that was it. Liam and Marilyn are official, I'm more than happy for them. None of our friendships have changed because of it, which was definitely all of our biggest worries. But, they're happy. So we all support them.

We were all surprised when Niall and Liam came to sit with us (me, Zayn, Harry and Louis), and instantly jumped into conversation with them. Niall was still distant. I don't know why, but it felt like we was just specifically avoiding me. He only looked at Liam most of the time, even when answering someone else's question. I tried to smile at him to get his attention, but he just looked away. I figured I would just talk to him after school.

The rest of school went by easily, normal class stuff.

"Niall!" I yelled, running down the hall to catch up with him. He turned around but didn't see me in the crowd of people, so he just put in his earphones and continued walking. I finally caught up to him right before he reached the parking lot. I was almost out of breath, having to push through all of the people in the crowd. "Niall! Hey!" I shouted while grabbing his shoulder. "Oh hey Jenna, I've already got stuff going on, can't hang out." He replied, barely looking at me. "That's not what I wanted to talk about, Ni." I said. We didn't have to yell over others anymore, people started going their separate ways.

He looked at me confused, but also like somehow he knew what was coming. "I want to know why you're sorta... avoiding me..." I mumbled, although I knew he could still hear me. "I don't know what you're talking about." He replied, putting no emotion in his words. No confusion, concern, reassurance, nothing. "Yes you do. Can you just tell me what's going on? What did I do wrong?" I asked, starting to get angry. He leaned up against his car like before school, and simply shrugged. "You're not in the wrong. Nothin' to worry about."

"Cut the bullshit. What did I do." I asked. More like commanded, actually. I hate fighting with my best friend, but I needed an answer out of him. He didn't respond, he just stood there clenching his jaw. Surprisingly he kept eye contact, he usually doesn't. "Is it about Zayn?" I guessed. Maybe that'll get something out of him. "You wanted to be with him, now you have him. I hope your happy with your decision." He said, walking over to the drivers side and starting the engine.

What was that?

I drove home in complete silence, no radio and not even a thought in mind. There was so much going on at once, I just shut it all out and shoved it into the corner. I don't need to deal with this right now. It's quality time.

"So, darling, how's things with Zayn? Still well?" My mum asked. We went out to eat after the movies. "Things are good, never been better..." I chuckled, playing with my food. "But?" She asked. I gave her a confused look. "What're you holding back?" She clarified.

"Niall. He's been avoiding me since me and Zayn started dating. After school he said he hopes I'm happy with my decision, not going easy on the sarcasm either." I answered. I was hoping my mum would have the answer to his behavior, even though its not like she can read minds. She seems to just possess all knowledge. "Doesn't that boy like you?" She asked before stuffing the food in her mouth like she hasn't eaten in days, causing me to giggle.

"I don't know. He used to, I guess. But I think he's moved on. He doesn't seem to have a problem when I talk about Zayn. He even congratulated us." I sighed. "What did I do?" "Just give him time, darling." My mum told me.

"Everyone's fighting their own battle. He'll come around eventually."
