2. The Book Store

It's been 9 years since I've last seen Liam. I still live in the same place, (except my parents don't live with me anymore, they moved to California to be in the non-stop sun), the place where we made all of our memories in my backyard. In my tree house. And that was where you would find me at this moment, sitting in the exact same position as I was when it was the day Liam left me. Almost every day, I sat here, lonely, reminiscing in old memories.

*Flashback*

"I love sitting up here, just staring at the stars" Liam says. We were both lying inside the house part of the tree house, looking out of the skylight on the ceiling. It was the day before Liam had to leave.

"Same. It's beautiful"  I whispered, flabbergasted at the gorgeous twinkling lights in the jet black sky. Liam's arm was wrapped around my shoulders, so his arm supported my head and neck. We were just cuddling. At the time, we had no idea what cuddling was, but we were doing it. It was in a friendly way of course.

"Just like you" he whispered, turning his gaze from the bedazzling stars to look into my eyes.

"Aww. I'm going to miss you so much. I'm losing my best friend" I mumbled, and clutched onto his torso.

"No, you won't be losing me, I will just be missing for part of your life. We will get back together in future years. I don't know how many, but we will find each other again. It will be just like old times" Liam said, rubbing circles with him thumbs in my sides.

We stood like that all night. We even passed out up there, locked in each others arms. Best friends forever.

*End of Flashback*

I am always in a daze when I think about a flashback. But what snapped me back into reality was my iPhone's alarm to go to work.

You see, I work in a book store. Very easy job, and it pays enough where I can get through the years. Most of the time, it's somewhat empty, but every now and then, we get a wave of people. That's what I'm needed for. I'm the only person who works there, besides the owner who is a sweet old grandmother, and my other best friend Madison. She was just like me, crazy all around, and she was most definitely gorgeous. She had hair like mine, except hers was a pin straight sandy brown, and mine was more wavy. Madison also had honey suckle brown eyes, so light and so beautiful.

*Ding* My phone went off. I unlocked it saw that I had a text from Maddy.

From: Maddysonsonsonson

'Mmmm guurrlll imma pick you up for work! Get yo buttox to your front lawn and wait for me!'

To: Maddysonsonsonson

'Mkay!'

I locked my phone and made my way down to the ground. Slowly, with my hands in my pockets, I just strolled to my front porch and sat on the bottom steps. Thank god it didn't take long for Maddy to get here.

Once in the car, Maddy commented on my outfit, sassily. Something like "you look dashing today." I was wearing leggings with UGGS and a hoodie.

"Why dress too impress when I'm just going to work in a half empty book store?" I said, snapping my fingers in Z formation.

"True that" she mumbled, and we headed off to work. It was a very awkward quiet car ride.

Once we got to the book store, we put on our nifty snap backs to go along with the store logo. Granny Jane, (that's what the store owner wanted us to call her since she was like a grandmother to us), wanted to make the store more modern, so she let us make snap backs for us 3.

I got to work, putting back books that no one wanted, checking to see if all of the books were in order on the shelves. Then I noticed no one was around, and put my headphones in, listening to the music that goes along with my dance routine. Granny Jane and Maddy were in the back doing inventory. With the cart in front of my, piled with books, I started to do my routine, doing twirls and all of the moves necessary to complete the routine.

Did I forget to mention I was a dancer? I have been doing it ever since I was 3. No, I was definitely not good when I was that young, but my skills progressed over the years, and now I have been doing pretty good if I do say so myself. Tomorrow, I was going to a dance audition to be a back up dancer for some famous people. The producers wouldn't tell us who, but I don't care anyway. This was going to be a big break for me.

Out of nowhere, I felt someone tap my shoulder. Immediately, I jump so high in the air, and let out a squeal. I turn around, taking my headphones out to see Zayn Malik, from One Direction standing there.

"Oh um sorry. I didn't know anyone was here" I mumbled, my cheeks getting red from embarrassment.

"No need to be embarrassed. But can you point out where the mystery books are?" he said.

Dumbfounded and tomato red from embarrassment, I could only point to the book shelve just across from the row we were both standing in.

"Come on lad! You can't take forever, we have to go!" I heard a familiar, but deeper voice say.

"Are the rest of the boys with you?" I asked Zayn, while he was in the middle of looking for a book. In reply, he just nodded and went back to searching for a book.

I followed the sounds of the idle chatting to see 4 boys lounging in the comfy couches, just making small talk.

"Li-Li?" I asked, barely coming out as a whisper. The talking stopped, and Liam shot his head up, looking directly into my eyes.

"B!" he exclaimed, getting up and rushing over to give me a hug. "Told you we would be reunited again" he whispered into my hair.
