Good-bye in One Year

Sage Jolie is a junior at her high school. She has a pretty normal life until one night when her and her boyfriend get into a car wreck. She comes out with a broke arm and a couple of stitches but he's not so lucky. As they do his blood work, they find out that he has cancer. There is nothing they can do for him and he ends up dying one month later. She feels like her whole life is over until she finds a box of letters under his bed addressed to her. He wrote her everything single day for a whole year. This letters send her on a trip pf a lifetime to help her find herself and live without him even though she isn't ready to say those last words... Good-bye

3. Really?

I woke up to my little brother, Jack, jumping up and down on my bed. His sun kissed blonde hair was wet and sticky on his head. His chin was covered in chocolate and his eyes were bugged out. I let out a groan then sat up. He gave me a devilish smile then hoped off the bed.

I watched as he ran around my room then darted out the door screaming something but I couldn't understand a word he said. I wanted to laugh but I couldn't bring myself to. I swung my legs off the bed. I couldn't help but read Samuel's note the night before today. It was too temping. I didn't want to go to school. I didn't want everyone to look at me with that sad depressed look. I couldn't take it.

I grabbed my clothes out of my closet and got a really quick shower. If I had to go to this place he wanted me to, then I had to hurry to make it to school on time. I put on a pair of sweat pants and one of his old sweat shirts, he was right about one thing. I didn't bother putting on makeup or doing my hair. I stacked my thick, wet locks into a bun at the top of my head. I didn't even care what I looked like. I walked out the door without saying a word to my mom or to my brother.

I started walking down the block. I didn't have a car, Sam drove to school and back everyday because my mom couldn't afford to buy me my own car and she needed hers to get to work everyday. I put in my headphones and listened to music for a about three songs when I heard someone screaming my names.

I looked over to the side of me to see a blue jeep pulled up next to me. That's when I saw his smug ass smile that always made me frown. Luke Tyler. Samuel's best friend since birth. I never could stand him. He was the kind of guy who dated anything with long skinny legs and a nice bum. It made me sick. I never understood how him and Samuel got along. They were complete opposites.

He pulled down his shades and looked at me with his big blue eyes, "I almost didn't recognize you, princess."

I rolled my eyes, "Leave me alone Luke."

"Now what fun would that be? Get in the jeep or I will put you in here myself." He said in a bored tone.

"I am not getting in a car, alone, with you." I said then started to walk again.

He car rolled along right next to me as he said, "I promised my best friend that I would give you a ride to school and back everyday. Let me fulfill my best friend wishes, princess."

I hated it when he called me that but at the pace I was going, I could never make it to the address Sam gave me and be on time to school. I chewed on my cheek then turned around.

"Fine. But I have to make a stop somewhere, if you don't mind." I said opening the jeep door. I slide in, leaning on the door. I hated even being near Luke.

"Whatever you say, princess. Where am I going?"

We traveled in silence for the next ten minutes until we pulled up next to this house. Luke turned off the car and crossed his arms. I rolled my eyes then slammed the door. I walked up to the front part of the house and knocked on the door. A small women opened up. She had brown eyes and bright pink hair. She smiled at me.

"Sage?" She asked in a very calming voice.

I nodded, "Yes. Samuel said there was something here for me?"

She nodded and pulled me into the house. On the outside, the house looked normal but on the insides, it was like a shopping mall. There were so many clothes, makeup artists, and hairstylists here. My mouth dropped wide open. The women clapped her hands and everything seemed to freeze.

"We have ten minutes to make this girl look even more fantastic then she is! Go!"

Everyone surrounded me. They poked and pulled and made me into something I have never seen before. I couldn't even protest before they finished. When they were done, I finally saw myself. They cut my dead ends off and styled my hair in a different way. The dark brown curls were perfect and hung just above my shoulders. My face was covered in soft make up with the prettiest pink colored lip gloss. My eyes turned from their normal grey color to a soft blue color I have never seen before. My face didn't look puffy anymore, it looked so... Different. For once, I looked really pretty. I was wearing a knee length, elbow sleeved, black and white almost skin tight dress with a little blue belt and matching ballet shoes. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I looked so pretty.

"Oh. My. Gosh." I said in awe.

The women nodded, "I'm Frannie, by the way and you are welcome here any day. You look even more beautiful then you were before. Now get to school before you are late!"

She pushed me out the door. I walked to the parked jeep where Luke was jamming to music in. The second he saw me, his face held the same expression as it always did. He didn't say a word, he just pulled the car in gear and drove off. I guess I didn't look that good after all if the man slut of the school didn't react any different. But why would I care anyway? He's just a stupid boy. Nothing like... Samuel...
