Leaving High School is all fun for the kids of Forrest High School, but not for Ash. As a her friends begin to look for colleges, Ash is stuck in the past. Everyone knows her secret yet no one bothers to care. She isn't the only one with this curse. Trying to fit the normal teenage life, her secret forbids her from doing that. Her parents tell her no friends, no love, no communication, but what happens when two different people from two different worlds fall in love? As Ash and Jace go against the rules, the world around them dies. Could they save the world and still be together, or is that completely out of the question?

10. What did I do?

*Jace's POV*

As he sent me down to the ground, I felt a sharp pain in my hand, as if the skin was being torn, following that was the sound of a crack. Then the pain was familiar. I had felt this pain before, I broke my writs. Confusion buzzed in my head as I saw her storm off, but something scared me. Her yes.

They weren't normal.

And what I saw,

I'd never forget.

Her blue eyes had become pitch black. The rage overcame her and I couldn't help but be annoyed that it was my fault. Or was it? She yelled "THAT bastard," not "YOU'RE a bastard." Who was she talking about? Sirens were known to have a curse, and only few rare ones were known to be controlled by the king. I guess since Ash was his daughter, she was under that category of Rare. In a a way, I felt bad for her. How could anyone turn their daughter into that? But then, the scene of me saying it was over came in my head, How could I do that to her?

I ran to her house, the pain in my arm was pushed aside but for now I had to go to her. I couldn't lose her, not again. Showing up would be like marching into a hurricane, but for Ash, it was entirely worth it.

As I approached her door, a feeling of nervousness, scariness and uneasiness entered me. Here I go.
