Open me

“STOP F**KING TOUCHING ME!” I shouted, pushing him away from me.
Suddenly, one of the boys pulled out a knife and came towards me with no remorse in his eyes.
"Gosh no," I thought. "No, please don't," I begged them, fearful for my life.

If I die would anybody care?
Would people cry for me, would you cry?

I cry a lot, and I don't sleep.
My life is just one big bad nightmare I can't wake up from.
I'm just like a dull bookcover that everybody judges but nobody takes their time to open it up and read.
I got so many painful stories to share but I wont speak unless somebody took their time to open me.

2. Chapter Two

Chapter 2

It was 8:30pm; Aaliyah and three of her friends were in Aaliyah’s bedroom getting ready to go to a house party up in Peckham. Some dangerous tunes were playing up in da background, blasted up to full maximum, penetrating the thin walls, causing the girls to shout among themselves and drown out any sound from outside the bedroom door.

‘’ Dis rave is gonna be live, bare ed’z are gonna be dere’’ Aaliyah said smiling in da mirror, while fixing her hair.
On Aaliyah’s left was Malika who was a slim tall, rounded face Jamaican girl who was like a sister to her.
’’ Da mandem better be looking on point, you kno’’ she said knelt down on her knees, doing her eyeliner.
On the window sill was her other friend, Charlene a mixed race girl who was made up of English and Jamaican. She was a bit chubby and stood at 5ft6
she was smoking weed.
” Uno dem onez” Charlene added as she inhaled the smoke that twirled around in the atmosphere.

Her mum who was also in the house with them was getting frustrated from all the noise that was going on upstairs that she marched up the stairs to Aaliyah’s bedroom door shouting

“AA LIYAH AA LIYAH FOR ALLAH’S SAKE PLEASE TURN DOWN THE MUSIC AS I AM TRYING TO PRAY’’ her mum shouted from behind her bedroom door.

“AA LIYAH OPEN THE DOOR NOW, OPEN THE DOOR”.

For a while Aaliyah didn’t hear the banging until the track changed and there was a silence for a split second.

“AALIYAH TURN DOWN THAT MUSIC AND OPEN THE DOOR”
“Who da fuck is dat fam” Aaliyah said, opening the locked door With such force that a breeze of wind slapped her across the face.
“AA LIYAH, CAN YOU TURN DOWN DAT RACKET, AND RESPECT ME FOR ONCE” her mum shouted.
“THERES NO NEED TO SHOUT MA, IM NOT DEATH, WHY YOU BANGING ON MA DOOR LIKE DAT”
“Now listen to me Aaliyah Hussein, You listen to me good I had enough of your rudeness, I’m stressed, I’m struggling to find work. As the oldest child why can’t you find some kindness in your heart to help me out around the house, instead of going out half naked…”
“IM WEARING CLOTHES MA…”Aaliyah shouted
“CLOTHES! CLOTHES YOU CALL THAT CLOTHES! I didn’t even wear that kind of clothes even if I was in the garden, not even when my husband was with me…”Her mum interrupted
“well, I aint you and you don’t have a husband anymore…” Aaliyah snapped back.
Aaliyah who spoke without thinking studied her mother’s face and sensed that she knew she had said the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Silence was overtaking the atmosphere.
Her mum who was nearly in tears, stood there for a while speechless with anger, she knew that her daughter was right her beloved dead husband, who betrayed her, was never going to come back to her again and the thought of staying single until death approaches her was straggling her.
Just the thought itself made her feel even angrier, with anger she slapped Aaliyah across the face. “DON’T YOU EVER SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT OR BRING YOUR father into this “her voice was trembling
Aaliyah screamed at her “YOU KNOW THAT HIS GONE, HIS DEAD HE WILL NEVER COME BACK SO…”
“AA LIYAH SHUT YOUR MOUTH” she interrupted and walked away.
