My Big Brother

Ashely Styles is 11 months younger than Harry. She loves her brother to death. They're best friends. Everyone knows who they are. Especially Ashely's name. She's every boy's dream girl. Funny, wild, crazy. And good looking. She charms her way out of trouble. Harry thinks no one is good enough for his sister. He scares off every guy she goes on a date with. He loves her to death. Ashely's his best friend aside from his three other mates (Niall, Louis and Liam). But not even they are allowed to look at her for too long let alone ask her to prom without approval.

"Leave me alone!" I yelled at him.

"Why are you acting like this?!" He followed me up to my room.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I hung up my phone.

"I CAN'T BELIEIEVE YOU!" I pushed him out of my room.

"Ashely! What did I do!?" He begged for an explination.

"Never talk to me again! You're not my brother!" I screamed.

He made him leave. He did this.

54. I just know it

*Ashely's POV*

It was Thursday. My life has been boring. Nothing really happened. No one really asked about Zayn's disappearance which kind of sucked because, hello! He's Zayn.

Harry had left in some business trip with Robyn to Doncaster which made Louis incredibly jealous. Speaking of Harry, I had some what began to talk to him again and decided to stop calling him "It". But I still hated him with ever bone in my body.

I was currently painting a banner for the winter formal. We had chosen a masquerade occasion. The football (or soccer if you prefer) players had suggested it. They said it was a special request from their team captain, Louis Tomlinson.

Us cheerleaders were fond of the idea. I mean, it was the ultimate night to be a princess.

I was still deciding if I should go or not. I just really wanted to come with Zayn.

"Hey loser!" Katie giggled as she sat next to me. I was in charge of posters and stuff since Sadie insisted that I was the best artist to ever walk to earth. "Let's all go dress shopping after school!"

"I don't even want to come to this dance." I muttered while looking down.

"Look, I know you miss Zayn but he'd want you to have fun!" I had told her what had happened.

"I'm starting to think that people saying That "Zayn would want you to" is just a sad excuse for me to do what ever they want." I glared at her from under my bangs.

She scoffs. "Common, don't be a party shitter!"

"Katie." I sighed.

"You're going. Now go clean up." She pointed to my hand that was covered in smudges of paint. I gave in and went to the bathroom.

All of us agreed to meet at the mall in our own separate cars. Katie and I jammed out to her radio and for a brief moment, I was smiling.

Girl time is apparently the best medicine according to Katie as she turned down the music. "Or maybe it's just my presence." She joked.

"Nah.... I think it's the girl time." I teased right back. Don't get me wrong, I am still torn. But I guess in learning to live with it. There was no point in being upset all the time.

I was always wondering what Zayn was up to though. If He was okay. I remembered that night we had gone star gazing. Our first date. It always made me smile. He carved our initials into the tree When we had returned a week later.

When I feel sad, I just think of That moment. We didn't know what we were getting ourselves into but in that moment, all I knew it was going to be great.

I don't even know where that thought came from. Maybe it was because I was feeling a bit sad. Or Maybe because I wanted an excuse to think of him.

Either way, I couldn't help but slightly smile.

"We're here!" Katie grinned, interrupting my train of thought. "You okay?"

I nodded. "Yeah, just thinking of Zayn. Happy thoughts."

She gave me a slight smile. "I'm sure you'll see him again. Now let's go inside!" So out we went into the mall.

We went straight to a dress boutique that Victoria always gets her beautiful party dresses from. Immediately, we all dispersed and looked at different dresses.

"OH MY GOSH!" I could hear Katie scream from the other side of the shop. "ASHELY!" Oh, dear Lord. She is going to get us kicked out.

As I passed the store manager, I muttered "I'm sorry for my ridiculous friend." Then ran away.

All the girls were gathered where Katie was. I pushed past them and saw her holding a dress. It was a white ball gown with beading on the corset and puffed out at the bottom. Something you would see Cinderella wear.

It was absolutely beautiful. My jaw dropped as I saw it. "It's going to look amazing on you!" I cheered. Everyone burst into hysterics. I gave them a confused look. "Um, what's so funny?"

"You're so silly, Ash! This is YOUR dress!" Katie put it in my arms. "It would look a thousand times more amazing on you. And if you don't get it, I'm going to buy it then force you to wear it."

I rolled my eyes then went to the changing room. I slipped on the dress didn't look in the mirror. I always had this thing that I wouldn't look at what I try on until I got someone else's opinion.

I stepped out and instantly, jaws hit the floor. "You could've warned us!" Rebecca screamed at me. I gave her a confused look. "I can't even. UGH!"

"Does it look bad?" I bit my lip.

"BAD?!" Everyone began to shout at me and I couldn't even hear what they were saying. So, I spun around to the mirror.

My eyes widened as I looked at myself. This dress....

"You look like a princess." I heard someone whisper. I wished it was Zayn who would say that to me because in this moment, I did look like a princess. I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Ash, this is the dress." Lisa said as if I were picking out a wedding dress. Hell, I would use this as a wedding dress.

As I looked at the tag, my grin disappeared. "I can't afford this!" Now I know how Zayn felt about those shoes. I already blew my next six minimum wage paychecks on Zayn's Christmas present.

The store manager then walked in. I thought she was about to yell at us and kick us out for being so loud, but then I noticed the phone up to her ear. "It looks extravagant. Yes. Yes. Alright, bye." She hung up and then looked at me. "I'll bag it once you take it off."

"That dress... It was paid for already." She said as if I knew that but in reality, I didn't. "Someone dropped by and paid for it."

"Was it your Mum?" Katie whispered. I shrugged and gave her an I guess so look. I mean, she's done it for Gemma.

But what I didn't know is how she knew what dress I was going to get. I looked at Katie. "Did you-"

"Go change! We still have to go and buy masks. Hurry!" She pushed me back into the room.

I was surprised I didn't trip or anything. I took off the dress then changed back. The lady at the front bagged it as we left. The other girls had their own dresses they picked out while I was changing.

We got into our cars and prepared to head down to a costume shop.

"You so knew my Mum got me that dress!" I spat at Katie. She shrugged and laughed. "I think it's amazing. I wish-"

"You need to stop that!" She groaned. "You'll see him someday, Ash. I promise you that. I don't know how but I know that if he really is the 'one' that you refer to him as, he'll find a way. I swear you this."

I nod. "I'm sorry, Katie. I just can't stop thinking of him."

"I understand. Hey, I wouldn't be able to either if he's like you describe him to be. He's like your Prince Charming." She giggles. "Just stop with the sadness."

"Okay." Was all I said before smiling.

I had finally found the perfect mask for myself after an hour of searching. It had black lace flowers over the white velvety mask. I fell in love with it instantly.

Katie dropped me off at my house. I thanked her the entered inside, a giant grin on my face. "MUM! GEM!" I called.

I was excited for them to see what I had gotten and I wanted to thank Mum for the dress. I ran up to Mum's room and found her and Gemma sitting on the bed having their regular girl talk.

Gemma gasped as she saw the dress. "Oh my gosh." She stood up and grabbed it from me. I smiled.

"And I have this to go with it." I pulled out the mask and gave it to her. I could tell she was excited. She always is when it came to formals or proms.

Now that she's in UNI, she doesn't really get to do that anymore so her and Mum always cake me up as if I'm a doll

"Thanks for the dress, Mum!" I grinned.

She gave me a genuinely puzzled look. "What do you mean?"

"Didn't you pay for it?" I asked.

She thought for a moment then chuckled. "Oh no, that wasn't me." Now it was my turn to look confused. "Someone who really cares about you bought it."

"Are you trying to say you don't care about me?" I raised an eyebrow. Mum rolled her eyes. "Who bought it?"

"Someone who's coming back to Cheshire tonight." Well, that left me to Robyn but I knew Mum wouldn't let him but this.

So that leaves Harry. Don't get me wrong, I love the dress but it doesn't make up for anything. "Oh." Was all I said.

"You and Gemma go put that up then get ready for dinner. Alright?" Mum ordered. Gemma and I nodded to her then left to my room.

We entered the closet and carefully hung up the dress that was wrapped in one of those plastic thingies. I dropped the bag close by it then turned to Gemma. "I think Zayn would think you're beautiful in this dress." She said.

I opened my mouth to say something but instead smiled and walked away. I don't know why I did that. I just did.

Later that night, Harry had returned home. He had a devious smile on his face which sort of scared me. "Hey Ash." He said. "Could you fix me a plate?"

It was long after dinner time. I nodded and made him some left over chicken and rice. "Did you have a nice day?" He asked.

I nodded. "Are we still on the silent treatment thing?" He frowned. I shook my head. "Then why aren't you talking to me?"

I gulped down the rice I had slipped in my mouth when I was making Harry's plate. "I was eating." I explained with a laugh. Once the microwave went off, I carefully took out the plate then brought it to Harry who was sitting at the counter.

"Sit with me? I don't want to be alone." He begged.

"Harry, I have to shower." I tried to get put of it but he gave me that sad nod that just made him look like a sad, lost puppy. "Maybe for a few minutes." I sighed and sat down.

He smiled then took a bite. "Yum. Who cooked?"

"I did."

"Great job, sis." He said then gobbled down another scoop of rice. I slightly smiled. "So, tell me about today."

He must be wanting to hear about the dress. "Hey, thanks for the ball gown. I love it."

"Ball gown?" He gave me a puzzled look which made me roll my eyes.

"Like you don't know. You bought me a ball gown!" I smiled.

"No, I didn't. I don't even have money to buy myself a tuxedo." He explained. "I'm narrowing one of Robyn's."

"Well if you didn't buy it then who did?" I crossed my arms. He shrugged. "Harry, quit acting like that. I'm not going to thank you more than I already have."

"Well, I don't even need you to because I seriously didn't buy you that dress. I mean, you can look in my bag and see the tuxedo for yourself." He was as serious as death.

"If you didn't buy it, then who did?" I asked. Harry shrugged. I sighed. "Well, I'm going to shower. Goodbye."

He nodded and off I went.

Oh joy! Pep rally day.

Please note my sarcasm.

I changed into my cheer outfit after my quick shower then straightened my hair. I threw on little make up and put in my contacts.

"Come in." I said after hearing a knock at the closet. Harry stumbled in and smiled. He stood behind me and began to gather my hair.

"You ready for today?" He asked. Harry held out his hand out so I handed him a rubber band. "Are you excited?"

"I guess." I muttered as I watched him. "You know, your smile is creeping the living day lights out of me." Harry let out a cackling laugh as he tied the ribbon in my hair.

"I'm sorry, I'm just so happy right now." I raised an eyebrow. "I don't know. I just feel like today is going to be an amazing day for the both of us." Harry placed his hands on my shoulders then lowered his head next to mine. "I just know it."

"Alright then, Harold." I said. He pecked my cheek then went on his way down the steps. I picked up the backpack Liam had given me for my birthday and headed down the steps as well.

Harry, you better be right about today. Or else I'm going to murder you.
