19. Fading Memories Chapter Nineteen

Harry's POV:

As the door is shut in Zany's face he heads back to the car. I sigh and look at the new phone in my lap. It's not any fancy apple product. Probably like, iPhone one hundred. So many iPhones have been made since the band split eighteen years ago. It's like a white Toshiba slide up phone. Everyone has it nowadays, right?

"She said she didn't... Er, feel good. So, she can't talk." Zayn spoke restarting the car up.

"Yeah. Probably because of the fetus inside her. Just growing. Waiting to pop out," I mumble, biting my nail.

"Y-you need to let it go." Zayn chocked.

"No. I'm never going to let this go. You had sex with my daughter. My only child." Harry growled.

"You a-actually have two kids. You have Toby. A-and I... I wasn't the only one who had sex with her. Shaun Nelson did. That guy in that house had sex with her." Zayn stutters.

"What the hell? What is g.."

"I didn't tell you because I was afraid you'd act like this. I love her. I know I'd take great care of her. And I know she loves me too. I'd prove it if I got the chance." Zayn cut me off.

"She's seventeen. She doesn't know what love is. She's stupid. She got knocked up at sixteen.. Probably on her birthday. So technically seventeen. That's ridiculous Zayn. Just gross. You could go to jail. I bet she didn't want to do it either. I bet she told you no. I bet she was innocent and curious about sex!" I growled.

"You said you forgave her. But yet you're saying she doesn't know what love is at seventeen. You came out to us at what..? Nineteen! You knew you were abnormal at nineteen. You should've known before that. Like eighteen. One year older. You lost your virginity before the band was formed. You were sixteen then. What about Louis? What age did yo-"

"She's inno- she was innocent. It doesn't matter what happened in the past. I just want to go home." I cut him off.

I'm pissed off. It's so... Annoying being me. I hate my life. My life right now is complete and utter shit.

Zayn parks his car on the driveway and I walk up to the door, unlock it, and walk in. I walk to Brooklyn's room and set the phone on her bed. Maybe she'll come home. Surely she misses the place!

"Did she talk?" Louis asks from behind me, making me slightly jump.

"Not one word. Not me at least, she said 'she's sick'." I reply using air quotes.

"Cut her a little slack... Ease up a bit. Forget about B and worry about us." Louis pouts.

"Why us? We are fine. Aren't we?" I reply.

"Not exactly," he nervously rubs the stubble in his chin. "Let's go sit downstairs... And talk."

I nod and follow him down the stairs, through the kitchen, and leading to the patio. Louis sits down on the chair opposite to me. He pulls out the pack of fags from his pocket an lights one.

"What needs to be discussed?" I quizzed, looking anywhere but in front of me.

"Me," he simply replied.

He blew out the puff of smoke from his mouth and flicked the cigarette a bit. He brought it up to his mouth once again and I looked away. I don't like watching him smoke. It's like knowing that he's dying even more everyday.

"Go ahead," I mutter.

"They say love never fades." Louis spoke, stomping on the fag that once was in his right hand.

"Uhm, okay. Neither do memories right?" I reply.

"Wrong. Both fade. Both soon become forgotten thoughts." Louis replied, I'm surprised to hear him speak like this.

"What about our love?" I quizzed. This makes no sense.

"It's going down hill and you know it, too. Lets face it, we weren't meant to be. I don't think we should see each other anymore!" Louis replied.

"It's not April, Louis. So it's not April fools day. You're such an ass. You need to know when to stop!" I retort, walking into the house.

He walks through the door and looks at me sympathetically.

"You meant it. Didn't you?" I bark.

He steps back and closes his eyes tightly. His breathing becoming uneasy. I almost feel bad for yelling. But I am still going to yell. He needs to know when to quit.

"Didn't you?" I quizzed in an calmer tone.

He nods yes and looks away. Almost as if he's scared. I take his hand in mine and bring him into a hug. I love him way too much to let him slip through my fingers once again. We've been through so much. But we always find a way back to each other. So, maybe just taking a few months off and we'll get back together after.

"Okay. Maybe we should. It's never permanent for us to be away from each other anyways." I smile as we break from the hug.

"Harry, I'm serious. We never are happy tog- yeah. It's not permanent.." He assures me.

I smile even bigger and leave the room and go into the kitchen. I see him making his way upstairs. Trudging, as if he doesn't want to leave. That's how I know the separation isn't going to be that long. We love each other too much.

****

"Hello?" I say through the phone.

"Uh, hi. I spent a few hours with Brooklyn today." A woman said through the phone.

"Uhm. Okay...?" I replied.

"Something is off about her.. And her fiancé!" Meghan. Meghan is on the other line.

"Fiancé?" I retort.

"Well, I think. They seem so in love and always clinging on to one another. They're too cute. I have Shaun's phone number so I can talk whenever. Hopefully she'll get her own phone!" Meghan replied softly.

"They won't be getting married anytime soon!" Louis spoke, joining the conversation with the other landline.

"And why is that? She's old enough to make her own decisions!" Meghan replied, probably crossing her arms over her chest. She is so... Snobby. I never really liked her when we all met her. I just felt bad.

"Because she's obviously not old enough if she keeps doing what she is doing now." I retort slamming the phone back on to its charger.

I hear Louis say bye and walk down the stairs. Here we go with a lecture.

"Wait fifteen minutes until Meghan shows up here and asks you what you're doing. I doubt she won't come." Louis snapped.

"Why can't she know that Brooklyn is a slut? Are you too ashamed to tell our own family? We can give her up for adoption if so!" I reassure him.

"I'm not ashamed. I don't think people need to know about our daughters sex life. We aren't putting B up for adoption once again. She was too young for it when we got her and she's still scared that she'll go back up everyday." Louis squints his eyes at me. Probably trying to sent a death glare.

"Her sex life was with our own friend. Anyways Brooklyn is the worst child out there. No man or woman should suffer having to raise her!" I snap back.

"She's not even a bad child. She's only been to one party. Hers. She's always studying, she always had manners, she is sweet. You can't hold a grudge the whole time." Louis softens his tone.

"I'm sure she sneaks out and goes to parties every night. She probably sleeps with a new guy every night also. She. Is. A. Slut." I bark.

Louis flicks his eyes between me and the wall. Bloody hell, is Meghan here already?

Brooklyn.

"Is that really what you think of me?" She asks with tears in her eyes. I open my mouth but the words don't seem to find their way out.

She runs up to her room and minutes later she comes back down with a bag and the phone box.

"Thanks for the phone.." She sniffs and walks out.

"I'm leaving too. You keep the house." Louis mutters and walks out the door, following Brooklyn.
