Starring One Direction

You've heard the story-girl meets boy, girl meets another boy, girl meets a third boy and has to choose between them, meanwhile dancing backup for their tour and having to deal with blackmailing manipulative psychos.
Okay, so maybe this isn't your typical story.
Emily is back, finally settled into her new life as Niall Horan's girlfriend.
She has it all: the guy she knows she loves, the best friend she can't live without, and a new movie on its way as she pursues her acting career.
But when Emily is confronted by her past, things get turned upside down.
Will her love with Niall stay strong, or will she be forced to leave behind everything she's come to know?

*A Threequel to "More Than One Direction" and "Choosing One Direction"*

8. I Should've Kissed You

The next day is a script day, which means we only focus on reading through the script and not actually shooting.
I get to my trailer and breathe a sigh of relief that I don't have to see Jake, who only works on shooting days.
I look at my schedule for today as I sip my coffee.
Oh fantastic. The date/elevator scene.
Ya know, when Liam and I go on a super romantic date, kiss, go to visit Louis in the hospital, Niall gets mad and leaves, and Liam and I get trapped in an elevator where we kiss again.
That part, ya know, which I would like to forget.
Now I get to relive it in super awkward movie context with Liam who still isn't over me.
I pick up my script and head towards the trailer that belongs to the boys.
I walk in without knocking, calling out, "Baby?"
"HERE!" five voices yell in unison.
I close the door behind me, laughing, and head over to where all the boys are sitting, eyes glued on the television as Zayn and Liam play video games.
I roll my eyes as I walk over two bodies to turn off the television.
"Hey!!!" five voices yell at me.
"Come on children," I say in a matronly mocking way, "we have a script to go through."
I give Niall a soft kiss and leave the trailer as the boys follow me like ducklings follow their mother.
Niall catches up to me and holds my hand, giving me a kiss on the cheek.
"What scene today Emmy?" Harry says as he runs to my side.
Since my one hand holds my coffee and a script, I release Niall's hand to ruffle Harry's hair.
"You'll see when we get there Hazza," I say before grabbing onto Niall's hand again.
When we get to the rehearsal space, we take our usual seats which are faced inwards to form a circle.
I place my coffee in my chair's cup holder and put my script on my lap.
Niall, who is seated on my left, leans over to whisper in my ear, "Are you sure you can do this?"
I nod my head.
"I'm a professional. I just don't know how Liam will handle it," I whisper back.
Harry overhears and leans in to whisper to us, "Probably not."
I bite my lip and wait for Chris and John to arrive so we can start rehearsing.
When we finally start, Liam and I move our way to the center.
I sit down, like I did many months ago, but when Liam goes to sit beside me, Chris stops him.
"Wait," he says, "I picture this more laying down."
"Well when it happened, we sat with the picnic basket in front of us," I correct him.
"What do you mean, 'when it happened'?"
I bolt my eyes over at Liam, who looks just as confused.
Then it clicks and you can hear the silent tension in the room shift as each of us starts to understand.
Chris and John have no idea that this is a true story. They just think that this is a movie script.
"What Emily means," I can hear Harry's voice say from behind me, "is that when she and Liam practiced this earlier, they practiced sitting down."
I nod my head in response, and see out of the corner of my eye that Liam is doing the same.
"Okay," Chris says when he finally agrees to believe us, "well I'd like it to be lying down, with your heads turned towards each other."
We do what we're told, and start the scene.
I have my lines memorized, though the whole thing is so familiar it feels like I practically wrote the script.
Liam seems to have his down too, and our dialogue runs pretty smoothly.
He avoids all eye contact with me, only looking at me when John yells at him to do so.
Then it gets to the kiss, and my stomach fills with awkward hatred for myself.
I shouldn't have done this a long time ago, and I wouldn't have to be repeating it now.
With a boy who still cares about me.
In front a boy that I'm not sure how he feels about me.
In front of the love of my life.
We kiss, and it feels all too familiar, although this time there is no questioning about how I feel for Liam.
When we release, I look into his eyes, and though he tries to avoid my gaze, I can still see the uncomfortable pain in his eyes.
When we finish the date scene, Chris and John share their notes, which I mark in the script before we move on with the hospital scene.
It starts with me rushing to Louis's bedside, and the small smile he gives me tells me all I need to know.
He still cares about me too.
We go through the scene, and the part where Niall gets upset and leaves hits my heart with huge force.
The painful memory shatters my heart, but Niall smiles at me once he "leaves" so I know he's okay.
It cheers me up, but the thought of portraying the elevator scene in front of him makes me feel nauseated.
When we start the scene, I swallow hard and close my eyes to mentally prepare myself.
Liam and I scoot closer together, our eyes forced to lock by the direction of Chris.
He moves his hand to my cheek, and his eyes fill with passion.
Mine probably fill with regretful anguish.
I close my eyes and touch my lips to his.
He deepens it, though I can tell he's still holding back.
Our tongues barely touch, but it's enough for him to continue, and he starts to rub his hands over my shoulders and down to my hips and waist.
He grabs a handful of my hair, and I press my hands to his chest.
I push him away.
"Emily," John says, "the scene isn't over."
"I know," I say shamefully, my head hung, "I'm sorry."
"No," Chris says, "you're fine. That's enough for today. Thank you everyone. Shooting tomorrow. I'll call if things change."

The next day, we hang out in the 'Boys of One Direction' trailer before shooting starts.
I cuddle up next to Niall, with Harry on the other side of me.
Liam and Zayn play some video games while Louis watches, half paying attention and half playing with his phone.
Shooting doesn't start for a couple more hours, but running lines quickly turned into hanging out.
"I'm hungry," I suddenly say aloud to no one in particular.
"You want something to eat, baby?" Niall asks me.
I pout my lip and nod my head.
He laughs before kissing the top of my head, "Okay hun."
He gets up before turning to the other boys, "Anyone wanna come with me to get food?"
Zayn and Louis stand up.
"Yeah mate, let's go," Zayn says.
"I could eat," Louis agrees.
They walk out, leaving Harry, Liam, and me.
"I'll take a walk," Liam says before walking out, not even lifting his head when he speaks.
"Ugh," I say, crashing my head into my hands, which are supported by my elbows on my knees.
Harry laughs, "What?"
"You know what! Liam! Yesterday! Awkward! Horrible!"
He laughs again, "It wasn't that bad."
"Are you kidding? It was awful! It was like reliving bad memories! Actually, it was exactly like reliving bad memories."
Harry laughs a third time, "Calm down! It was just a kiss. It was fine."
"A kiss I'd like to forget! A kiss that happened a long time ago! A kiss I regret that almost made me lose Niall."
"That's not the only thing..."
"I know, Harry, I know- I made a lot of mistakes."
"Don't worry- I have too."
"Oh really now? This may be refreshing- hearing other people's problems."
I turn to face him excitedly.
"Oh gee, thanks for enjoying my misery," he says as he sticks his tongue out at me.
"Well, thanks to this movie, now the whole world gets to enjoy mine," I say, rolling my eyes.
He laughs.
"So let's hear it," I say, "what's your biggest mistake?"
"You don't wanna hear this," he tries to get up, but I push him back down.
"No, I do."
He sighs.
"I should've kissed you a long time ago," he says, leaning closer to me.
