Karla is just a normal girl, living a normal life, with a normal family, with normal friends. At least that's the person you see when you walk in the hallways of Kingston high school. But she's not the person she looks like when you walk past her in the corridor. Her inside is filled with pain and guilt. Everything she can remember from when she was younger was the constant pain, and watching her mother beeing abused by her father. When she was 5 years old, he left. And even though her mom hated him, her brain told her that she still loved him. Ever since then her mother have been down, and it's all Karlas fault. If she just hadn't been born non of this would've happened. Her life is a gloom until one day when she bumps into a sweet canadian boy that'll change her life forever.

13. Clouds

"Karla wake up!" I slowly opened my eyes and glanced at my clock. It showed 8.34. I sighed and closed my eyelids. "Mom I don't have school today, remeber?" I called. "There's someone here to see you!" I sighed again and buried my face in the pillow. "Fine." I mumbled to myself. I rubbed my eyes and stood up. With a quick look in the mirror I quickly combed my hair. Like a zombie I walked down the stairs. "So I'm telling you, always be careful, and use protection." I stopped at stared at mum talking to Justin at the table. He was smiling widely and was on the edge of bursting out to laughter. "Mum!" I grabbed Justin's arm and dragged him with me up to my room. Right after I closed the door Justin couldn't hold it anymore. He was bent over, laughing uncontrollably. "Stop it's not funny." I sat down on my bed and watched him almost fall to the ground with laugher. With a few deep breaths he stood up straight. I swear he was on the edge of wiping his tears of his face. He giggled and sat down on my bed beside me. "I'm sorry." He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and rubbed my arm. "It was kind of funny though." He smiled as I punched his stomach. Suddently he stood up and reached his hand out to me. I raised an eyebrow but still grabbed his hand and let him pull me up. He quickly grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him. "Hey." he whispered and kissed my lips gently. When we pulled apart he smiled and licked his lips. "Now come on, we've got alot of plans for the day." He opened the door. "Get changed and meet me downstairs okay?" He was just about to close the door. "Uhm Justin?" "Yeah?" he peaked his head in through the door again. "Uhm... can you just stay upstairs and don't go down?" "Well, I don't know what you mean?" He said. I smirked at him and he smiled. "Just hurry." He closed the door and I shook my head. That boy.

"Here." Justin put another chocolate covered strawberry in my mouth. I giggled as he wiped a little chocolate from the corner of my mouth. "Tastes good right?" He chewed one of the last strawberries in his mouth. I layed on the blanket and looked up at the sky. Clouds were scattered across the endless blue surface. I felt Justins arm wrap around my shoulder as he layed down next to me. I placed my head on his chest, listening to his soft heartbeats. I could stay like that forever. I pointed at a cloud. "That one looks like a cat." He followed my finger and laughed. "Yeah it sort of does, you're right." He pointed at another one. "That looks like a flower." Then we just layed there, pointing at different clouds, laughing together. Why is it always so addicting to search for figures in clouds? A cute little voice interrupted us. "Hi Justin." I sat up and looked at the little smiling girl with a notebook and a pencil in her hands. She must've been five at its max. "Can I have your autograph?" I couldn't help but to smile. She was adorable. "Hey cutie, of course, can you hand me that?" Justin smiled widely as he recieved the girls notebook. "What's your name?" He said. "Lexie." She was almost jumping from excitement. "Here you go." He handed Lexie her things. She looked down at the paper and smiled. Then, all of a sudden, she jumped into his arms and hugged him. Justin laughed and hugged her back. They were so cute. We both watched the girl run of to her mum who were sitting about 60 feet away from us. Lexie hugged her mum. She was so adorable. A while later we packed our stuff together and started to walk down the streets instead. Not really saying much. I noticed some paparazzi, they actually gave us some privacy though. Hmm, at least they got some dignity left in them. Since we were official now I guess that I didn't really care if they took pictures of us. We walked down a pavement next to yet another park when I saw him. His posture was the thing that caught my eye. The dark hair hanging over his right eye. The socks in his pants. The scar on his left cheek. The cigarette in his mouth. His dirty clothes. The creepy smirk. I stopped. Justin raised an eyebrow at me. "What?" he asked. I couldn't stop staring. "My dad."
