Fighting For You

''I needed her. Desperately. I needed to feel her soft skin against mine, hearing her angelic voice, nuzzling my nose in her hair, feeling her smell. She was like poison to my veins, burning every nerve inside me. She could knock me to the weakest point by only giving me one simple look. I was so madly in love with her it wasn’t even healthy. She was the one I always had in my mind before dazzling of to sleep at night. She was the reason I got F on my assessments. She was dangerous. Dangerous to fall in love with''.

2. 2. Pitch-Black Sky

We lay in bed. I had my little Quinn cuddled up against me. I hold my head up on my elbow as I laid on the side. I watched her while she was sleeping, though I knew she hated when I did that.  However, it rather fascinated me. Her eyelids closed, I could see how something moved underneath them. She was probably dreaming. I tugged back a hair strand of soft blonde behind her ear. My mouth followed my fingers as I pecked her ear. I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve such a beautiful girl in my life. I stroke my thumb all over her face at the sensitive skin as I admired this amazing creature. I could see how her eyelashes winced a bit when my fingertips stopped at her cherry plumped lips. I stroke the outline of them, feeling every curve. I remembered our first kiss. It was sweet and delicate, didn’t rest more than only five seconds. But I can tell you it was like being in heaven.

It had been a warm summer evening in August. Quinn and I had been friends for a while though her parents already then didn’t appreciate my presence.  We lay on her roof next to each other, shared funny stories, and looked at the star constellations, trying to find our own zodiac. I remember how my gaze had -innocently as a lamb- wandered over her body while she was pointing at the stars and explaining something. My eyes had travelled over her skinny legs, her hips, her flat stomach to stop for a while at her breasts (I’m a guy so what would you’ve expected?), before landing on her pouted lips. It was then I realized how beautiful she was. With strawberry blonde hair and breath taking ocean blue eyes. Every inch of her was stunning.

Why had I not realized that before? However, i've always had a slight crush on her from the first sight in school. Then I had been woken up from my own thoughts by hearing her voice.

‘’Look, Harry! You see?’’, her voice cheerful as she’d pointed at the pitch-black sky. I looked up and right then a shooting star crossed the night. Her eyes were sparkling as her gaze met mine for a second.

‘’Make a wish’’, she said in a low tone as she smiled at me.

I thought about it for a second before I’d nodded.

I was going to kiss her. I had always wanted to try that. Taste her pink plumped ones. Of course, I had kissed a girl before so it wasn't really something new to me, but Quinn was special. She was different. And innocent.

Quickly, I’d sat up to lean over her and with no hesitation I kissed her lips softly. Her body had tensed, overwhelmed at my sudden actions. She had been breathing heavily against my lips. I guess she was in shock. However, she didn’t refuse me.

When I pulled away, my eyes were immediately fixed on hers. They were wide. My face had been only inches apart from hers, our noses slightly brushing. She’d looked in my eyes, like she was trying to find something. Then a small smile had started to form on her lips while blushing. I could feel myself relax a bit.

‘’Was that your wish?’’ she’d asked, as she reached for my paper plane necklace that had been hanging against her chest. She played with it in between her fingers

‘’Part of it’’ I’d smirked. ‘’My wish was that one day, you would be mine’’..

Her smile had got wider, starting to showing off her white smile. She rested her arms around my neck as her eyes landed at my slightly parted lips.

‘’Well, then I think that today is the day’’.

With that, our lips had brushed against each other again, making the connection I was craving for.

‘’I’m yours’’, she mumbled.

I had smiled against her lips.

‘’Wish completed’’ I had whispered as we were surrounded by the dark summer night.  And that’s how Quinn became mine. Only mine.

It wasn’t until I glanced at the clock that was hanging on the wall I realized I should probably go home. It showed 01.34. That meant I’ve been here for a good couple of hours just lying on the bed and admiring Quinn while she was asleep. Without waking her up, I wiggled out from bed and dragged the cerise coloured covers over her. I didn’t wanted to leave her yet, but I knew I had to. I bend down, pecking her forehead. When I pulled back, I sighed. Quinn looked so sweet and innocent as she laid there under the covers with a small smile on the lips. Her hair spread out all over the pillow, looking like the sleeping beauty herself.

My eyes were still a bit damp from when they had teared up when she said she loved me. But I wiped away the tears with the underside of my arm as I walked towards the window where I first came from. I opened it and climbed out. With a last look, I turned around to see my innocent princess sleeping peacefully. She wasn’t crying as she did when I first came. Now, she had a smile on her lips. Now she had me. We had each other.

I sneaked out from her backyard and started to walk down the street. Because no buses were running at this time, I knew I had to make my own way home by walking. I knew it was a bad idea ‘cause the streets here were unforgivable, especially for someone like me. It was a rather cold night so I wrapped my black jacket tighter around me.

I passed the park and many nightclubs with the neon light blinding my gaze. I could hear people laughing, seeing blonde girls in short dresses balancing on scary high heels in front of me while they drooled on some macho guys. I started to feel ill and picked up the pace. I wanted to get away from here. Now.

When I was about to turn left to walk in another direction I bumped into someone.

‘’Watch out!’’ I heard a manly voice groan with an angry tone.

My blood froze.

Because when I looked up, my gaze met the dark brown orbs that were filled with so much hate. It was her older brother. And he wasn’t alone. Hell no, he wasn’t.
