Behind the Truth

Meet Harry Styles...

Harry Styles was one of the world's biggest heartthrobs of a certain British/Irish band called, 'One Direction'. All he ever wanted was someone to treat him well. Not as the famous celebrity, but as Harry.

He finds that when he meets Carter Hanson. A girl who has 2 jobs and is pretty much a nerd. She knows who he is, but doesn't treat him as if he were any different from herself. He's falling fast for a girl he's only just met. What he doesn't know, won't hurt him.

Meet Carter Hanson...

Carter's your typical quiet, shy 14 year old. From the outside, she seems completely happy, joyous, and carefree.

But her secrets beg to differ.

9. News.

Carter's POV:

"I'm coming, mom." I groaned through the phone. I hung up, stuffing my phone back in my jeans pocket as I made my way up the flight of stairs.

Today was the usual day of work. I always come home hearing my mom's lectures of why I'm always late and how dangerous and worried she was whenever the shop has busy days. I really couldn't care much about her constant complaints, because I've been living with her for the past 14 years.

After the talk with Liam, Louis, Zayn, and Niall back at the cafe, I wondered whether I should go or not, because it was tough. I mean, I thought Harry might not be okay with it. He has been avoiding me for a couple of days. It was scary to approach someone's house without their formal invite.. Should I?

It's been on my mind all day at work. Did I mention I was almost attacked by those girls from outside? When I opened the cafe once they left, the girls were bombarding me with questions like, 'Are you dating anyone from One Direction?', "Did they talk to you?", 'What did they do?', and all that junk. Most of them weren't even nice. I just stayed silent and served them what they wanted, even though they were a pain.

Anyways, I lounged towards the living room, where I met my mom waiting patiently on the couch, drinking some tea.

"Hey, mom." I greeted slowly.

"Sweetheart, we need to talk." She patted the seat right next to her. I sat down, ready for anything she was about to say. She cleared her throat, "Remember when I told you that your father and I were headed to a meeting in Manhattan that night at Spinners?" I nodded, and she continued. "Well, in the meeting. We started to talk. Apparently, your father and I have a business trip to attend to in New York for the entire summer. It's a very important job and we couldn't say no to it. They couldn't allow you to be a part of it, because it would interfere with our business." She paused, "Ahem, so.. we had no choice but to take it and leave you here."

"What? M-Me? Alone?" I stammered.

"I'm not finished." She sternly spoke. "We trust you, and love you. So yes, you are staying here alone. But you will be contacted by Dylan if you don't behave." She pointed at me.

"When are you leaving?" I asked quietly.

"Tomorrow morning."

I mentally cheered inside my head, feeling the rush go through my body. I was going to be alone for the entire summer until I get back to school! "Oh, that's-that's okay." I acted as if I was upset.

"Oh, sweetheart. You can call anytime. Dylan too.." She pulled me in for a hug and I just fist pumped the air from behind.

This was an useless chapter. Sorry. Have a little bit of Writer's Block. It'll be gone soon, once I figure out something. I'm seriously happy that I'm almost up to 200 views! You guys are amazing and I feel like I'm letting you down. I'm so sorry for the chapters getting boring, but I PROMISE that it'll get better. Thanks! Bye! :D
