Behind the Truth

Meet Harry Styles...

Harry Styles was one of the world's biggest heartthrobs of a certain British/Irish band called, 'One Direction'. All he ever wanted was someone to treat him well. Not as the famous celebrity, but as Harry.

He finds that when he meets Carter Hanson. A girl who has 2 jobs and is pretty much a nerd. She knows who he is, but doesn't treat him as if he were any different from herself. He's falling fast for a girl he's only just met. What he doesn't know, won't hurt him.

Meet Carter Hanson...

Carter's your typical quiet, shy 14 year old. From the outside, she seems completely happy, joyous, and carefree.

But her secrets beg to differ.

Harry's POV:

Once I got home, I unlocked my door and stepped inside. I went over to my bedroom and took off my jacket. Then, I leaped onto my bed, resting my hands behind my head. I stared at the ceiling for a while, reflecting on what had just happened today. I couldn't believe how much fun I had with Carter. She was so outgoing, funny, and cute. I could almost imagine her brown hair, flipping around when she turns, her smile appearing when she either blushes or laughs. Perfection.

Just then, my phone rung. I picked up up, holding it to my ear. "Hello?"

"Harry, mate! How was your date?"

"It went great, Louis." I smiled.

"Tell me all about it! Just so you know, you're on speaker with the boys. They're all in my flat now."

"Alright. Well, I saw her when she came for work today. She came over to me and asked for my order. Then I asked her if we could hang out and go to Starbucks or something. We did, and we ended up challenging each other for a race to see who would get to Starbucks first. She won, so I had to pay for the drinks. I didn't mind though. We started to talk and laugh. Then Liam texted me to make my move on her. So I asked for her phone number and here I am." I explained, remembering every second of it.

"Wow. Sure sounds like a fun day, mate." I heard Liam say on the line.

I nodded, "It was."

"Are you planning on seeing her some other time?" I also heard Niall ask.

"Um, I did suggest on bringing her and her friends to hang out together. Remember those girls we met backstage last night?"

I heard a few murmurs of 'yeah' so I continued, "Well, that was her friends."

"Oh, you know Niall fancies one of them. He's blushing right now." Louis informed me. I chuckled when I heard the sound of a slap and Louis whining. "Liam fancies one of them too." He continued, earning another slap, probably from Liam.

"Alright, well someday. We haven't actually scheduled a plan yet. Just, someday."

Carter's POV:

"Jasmine, why are you so freaked out about this? You met them too!" I called her through the phone once I got back home. I paced around my room, talking to Louise and Jasmine through a three-way call.

"Because you didn't tell me! It's all over the celebrity news!" Jasmine told me, making my eyes widen.

"What? The celebrity news?" I stammered.

"Yeah, luckily the pictures didn't really show your face. Just Harry's." Louise chimed in. I could almost hear the sound of chew on her line. She was probably eating, as usual. "Oh, and thanks for bailing on us for our plans today. We came and Connor told us you were out. Now we know why."

"Louise! Don't be rude." Jasmine defended. "So what happened?"

"Nothing, we just went out for some drinks at Starbucks. We raced there, actually. By the end, he asked for my number and-"

"WHOA WHOA WHOA... HE ASKED FOR YOUR NUMBER?" Jasmine almost yelled through the line. I pulled my phone back a little.

"Yeah. He did." I replied reluctantly.

She started to squeal loudly. "oh my gosh! YOU GUYS ARE GONNA GET MARRIED."

"Jasmine, you're overreacting. He just asked for a phone number." I sighed. "Louise, tell her."

"I don't know, Carter. It sure sounds like something to me." Louise said.

"Whatever." I scoffed. "I have to go, I need to get some rest. It was a tiring day." I yawned.

"Tiring? Girl, you had like a fairytale day." Jasmine joked.

I chuckled, "Oh, alright.. I'll talk to you guys later."

The next morning, I got ready for another day at work. A different work. My day at Spinners were pretty tiring than the cafe, I can tell you that. So many girls would be there and ask for many kinds of CDs to buy. I would get trampled most of the time whenever a new CD comes out. It can get chaotic.

Luckily, today wasn't the day. Today was pretty relaxing when I was working. I was working by the cashier and writing my daily notes about what I do. Holding my clipboard and writing stuff down just makes me look professional.

"Excuse me. I was wondering if you still sell 'The Beatles' CDs here.." A husky voice asked me. I looked up at the computer and searched if we really did sell 'The Beatles' CDs. I clicked through a bunch of buttons on the screen until I found one.

"Oh, yes. Section B over to the right." I led him towards the section and took it out for him. He held it in his hands as I continued to look at him. He was wearing dark sunglasses and a black hoodie. His curly hair just made it pretty obvious to me.

I squinted my eyes to get a better look. "H-Harry?" Was this some kind of dream?

He looked up to me and I could see through his sunglasses that his eyes widened. "Carter?"

"Wow, small world, huh?" I laughed.

"Yeah, you work here? You have two jobs?" He questioned, his face making a weird look.

I nodded, "Yeah. I know it's weird for someone to have two jobs. My parents practically forced my into getting 'better responsibilities'. I'm kind of glad, though. I don't really have to sit home all day and do nothing."

"You must be tired. Working 7 days a week." He says.

"I'm use to it. You probably are too. Being a huge celebrity and all." I whispered at the last sentence.

"Yeah, kind of." He admitted, playing with the CD in his hands.

"Do you want me to ring that up for you?" I asked, walking towards the register.

He followed me, grabbing his wallet. "Thanks." He paused as he gave me his money. "So, will you be able to hang out soon, like yesterday?"

I thought about it for a second as I pressed on some buttons on the register. "Um, how about with you and your friends and me and my friends?" I packed his CD into a plastic bag, ripping out the receipt.

"Sounds great. When?" He took the bag and the receipt, waiting for my answer.

"Say, later today when I'm done with work?" I suggested.

"What happened to your parents being all cautious?" He asked.

"Don't worry about them, they won't know." I winked.

He chuckled, "Alright. You want me to pick you up?"

I shook my head, "No thanks. I'll meet you at your place with my friends."

"Sure, I'll text you the address to my flat." He smiled, waving. I waved back, before he was out of sight.

It was almost the end of my shift that day, and I already called Jasmine and Louise to meet me at Spinners to tell them the news. I could almost sense that Jasmine would be screaming in public once I tell them that we were going to hang out with One Direction. I had already covered to my mother that I would be taking a late shift at work, and she actually believed it. Just as long as I call or text, it was fine.

When Jasmine and Louise had arrived, I pulled them over to a small corner of the store and they eyed my curiously.

"What's going on? Why did you call us over here?"

"I wanna make it up to us for me bailing on our sleepover yesterday." I told them quietly.

"With what? Hanging out here?" Louise whispered back.

"No. How would you react if I told you that we were going to spend the day with One Direction?" I smiled.

Jasmine started to hyperventilate. "NO.... YOU'RE...YOU'RE...K-KIDDING...!"

"Here we go again..." Louise retorted. Louise may seem like she doesn't care that she was going to be hanging out with One Direction, but she sure was fangirling in the inside. Like I said, she's mysterious.

I shook my head. "I'm almost done with my shift, then we'll be out soon. Just hang out here till I'm done."

They both nodded as I walked back to the register, ringing up some CDs that the customers have given me. I spent a few more minutes working until my shift was finally over. When it was, I grabbed all my stuff and looked at my phone. Harry had already texted me the address with Louise and Jasmine behind my shoulders, looking at my screen.

By the time we were almost at the door, a voice stopped us.

"Where do you think you're going?"  It was my mom.

It's an extra one for today. I had some free time in my hands, but it's a bit short. I hope you all enjoyed it though. Thanks for the views so far too! Can I have some comments, please? I would really love to see what you think of my story so far.
