11. Check ups

*Sophie's POV*

It has been three weeks since I got out of the hospital and I am really glad it is going this fast. I really want out of these casts, and they are suppose to tell me if the surgery worked. I was going to the hospital today for a check up and thats when I was going to find out. I got up on my cruch under the arm that isn't broken, but Harry brought over the wheel chair instead. I thanked him and grabbed my purse. We got out to the car and got in.

We got to the hospital and Harry wheeled me in. We went up to the front desk.

"Appointment for Sophie Brown." Harry says to the lady.

She was silent for a minute looking at her computer, she finally looked up. "Ahhh, yes, here we go. Sophie Brown, 2:15." She stands up. "Right this way please." She guided us to a room. "The doctor will be right with you."

"Thank you." I say to her as she leaves.

We waited for a few minutes then the doctor came in.

"Hello, sorry to keep you waiting."

"No, that's ok." I say trying to make him feel better.

He put my old x rays up on the light board. "Ok, these are your old x rays. Now, I have some bad news and I have some good news. Which do you want first."

"Good news." I say, I don't want to know the bad news yet.

"Ok, good news is, the surgery got rid of the damage."

"And the bad news?"

"The bad news is, your memory may be lost forever. The things you don't remember now, may be gone for good, but in years to come there is like a 30% chance you will get it back."

I was utterly dissapointed, but the only thing I seem not to remember is the Louis thing."

"Ok, I think I only have one question."

"Yes." The doctor asked.

"Am I going to lose anymore memory?"

"No, you shouldn't, it has not happened before here."

"Ok." I sighed in relief.

"How are my broken bones, are they healing correctly."

He went over to the light board again and put up my arm and leg x rays, they looked almost normal.

"Yes, they look like they should be healed in a few weeks, and you can then start doing normal things."

"Thank you doctor."

We got home and went to bed. Then for some reason Harry got out of bed and went down stairs.

*Harry's POV*

I layed down and forgot I hadn't called Lou yet. I looked over at her and she had her eyes closed so I thought she was asleep. I quietly got up and went down stairs, once I got down there I pulled out my phone. I found Louis' number in my contacts and called.

"Hey, I forgot to call you, Sophie had a check up today and the doctors say her memory that has already been lost has a 30% chance of coming back in the future. Her broken bones are healing correctly."

He sounded really depressed. "Oh, so she may never remember me again...right?"

He broke down. "I miss her so much. I am so sorry Harry, if it wasn't for me she would be fine, I just can't imagine life without her knowing me, and remembering me." He started crying. "I know she was yours but now I know she doesn't remember what we had and she never will love me again."

I loved her and I knew she still loved me and didn't want to hurt anyone, I knew what I had to do. I know it will hurt.

"Y-yeah." He said through tears.

"If she remembers, I think you should be with her."

"No, I have already ruined too much for you."

"No, you havn't Lou, I didn't know but I never really had her. She was always yours. Even if she didn't want to admitt it to herself or anyone."

"No, Harry, she was yours, she told me she loved you and after the first time, she cried because she felt so bad. I have already ruined part of her life enough, I want her to be with you, she is better off there."

"Are you sure, do you want to come see her once?"

He thought about it for a minute. "No, it would just hurt too much. I think it is better I don't speak to her or see her ever."

"Louis?" I said sympathetically.

"No, Harry, it's fine. I will be ok as long as she is ok and doesn't know anything."

Then I felt guilty about telling her.

"Louis, I have to tell you something."

"She found the texts she had with you and asked me about you, and would not take no for an answer. I had to tell her."

"Oh no, what did she say."

"She said she never wanted to meet you, you sounded like an ass."

He laughed. "I have always loved her personality, and her humor."

"Yeah, she is really funny, the way she said that. Then she asked me if she ever loved you. I am sorry but I lied to her. I thought it was the right thing to do until now. Now I think it was stupid."

"I think it was right. Well, I guess I better go, call me when she has other check ups.

"Yeah, in a few weeks she has more check ups."

"Ok, call me then."

"I will, bye."

With that we hung up and I went back to bed.
