Chapter Six

    Alexander's P.O.V

The light was slowly fading in the night sky allowing the stars to come  out and play. Calista and I have been outside answering little questions about one another. I wanted to know more about this girl then I have wanted  to know about anything in my entire life.  I wanted to know every inch of her mind, body and soul. Her fears and dreams, everything. Sitting snuggled under a soft green blanket she sipped her cinnamon tea the steam rising and caressing her face.

“Calista, what are your plans for life?” My strong voice broke the  soothing silence as my curiosity took control.

“Uh well, I was planning on attending medical school to become an neonatal surgeon.” Smiling I pictured my beautiful Calista  saving lives and holding the lives of helpless babies in her hands, I had no doubt in my mind that she would have been wonderful at it.

“What’s your favorite color? Food?” I inquired amused as she tapped her small nose in thought.

    “Green and cheesecake.”

“Cheesecake is not a food dear that's a dessert.”

“Who said there was a difference to me?” She  asked her musical voice  suppressing a small giggle.

“Ill have to keep that in mind.” I smiled and studied her face. The slight breeze ruffled the hair that had fallen out of her braid, her soft green eyes shining in delight as she looked off into the forest.  Turning around my eyes were greeted by the flashing lights of fireflies roaming the yard.  Feeling movement under the blanket I turned around to see that Calista was not there anymore, quickly whipping my head around my frantic heart was calmed when I spotted her chasing the small dots of light.  Her soft laughter echoed through the yard as she jumped trying to catch one that was just out of her reach. She was so sweet I thought so innocent, this world was going to eat her alive if  I did not protect her. Watching her I silently made a vow to her and to myself that  I would protect her, no matter what the cost.
