    Chapter Four

        Calista P.O.V

My heart was pounding like a drum, the rhythmic sound of my running was almost painful. Running I was running so fast it hurt. Blood covered my feet, he was getting closer I had to protect her! In the distance someone was calling my name urgently.

“Calista wake up, wake up.” I woke up in a coat sweat, fear surrounded me like fog.

“Are you okay?” Alexander asked concerned.  Nodding I swallowed.

“Y-yeah.”  I managed to stammer out.

    “What were you dreaming?”

“Nothing, don’t worry about it.” I said coldly, turned over and hid under the soft blanket. I heard him sigh and leave to his room next door. No matter how nice he was to me, he did still kidnap me. Looking out the window at the moon I sighed the fear slowly retreating. The dream had felt so real.. What if it was going to happen? I don’t know why but it made me feel safer knowing Alexander was next door. Wait, was I starting to like him? Pushing the feelings out of my head I fell back into a dreamless sleep.

    Alexander’s P.O.V

Sitting in my study I looked out the window staring at the stars, what could she have been dreaming that made her so afraid? Her mind, it was like there was a protective wall up, she was so afraid. The fear in her eyes was so real it made me wonder if she had the gift of foresight, and if she did, that would mean I did not have to kill her. Jumping up I ran to the library to do some more research on the subject, I hope to god she wasn’t human, or that she had some sort of gift. I was falling for her and I have not even known her for more than a day, but my soul knew her, our souls have known one another since the beginning of time. She was mine and no one would take her away from me. My beautiful Calista I repeated in my head. She was mine even if she didn’t know it.

Walking around the kitchen I cooked us breakfast, having no idea what she liked I made a little of everything. Stumbling down the stairs rubbing her eyes Calista took a seat at the black marble breakfast nook. The kitchen was full of warm colors and comfortable seating arrangements.

“What are you making?” She asked her voice still a little groggy from the lack of sleep.

“ A little bit of everything.” I admitted. “I didn’t exactly know what you like.” She turned away hiding her smile. Frowning I placed the arrangement of foods in front of her. I had told my staff to take the day off, I didn’t want her knowing who I was just yet. Looking her over I only had one thought, she was perfect. Her long hair was framing her bright green eyes, her small figure was covered by grey sweatpants and a blue tee-shirt both wrinkled from sleep. Her perfectly shaped curves hidden by the soft fabric of the clothing brought a soft smile to my lips. I could get used to this, to her being here.

“Thank you.” I heard her mumble quietly, her pale arm reached for one of everything. Guess she was not a vegetarian, I smiled inwardly at myself. Sitting down next to her we both ate quietly.

“What do you want to do today?” I asked. She shrugged and stared at her plate. So she was not talking to me, great. I thought sarcastically. Guess I’m going to have to do more to earn her trust, and I knew exactly where to start.

“Well why don’t you go get ready for the day, I have to run a quick errand and when I get back i'll show you around the house.” Nodding she looked out the window, guess she was doing everything she could to ignore me. Grabbing my black leather jacket I walked out the door, texting Mason to keep an eye on the house while I was gone. Starting my black convertible I drove away from the house ready to plan my surprise that would hopefully give me some points with Calista.

Grinning like a Cheshire cat  I snuck into the house and into one of my many empty rooms. Picking out a pale blue room that was quite spacious, I placed everything down accordingly. The guitar in the corner by the window, the paints and canvases on the shelves, I bought some bean bag chairs, a flat screen tv, and a whole bunch of other things I thought she would enjoy. Placing throw pillows on the new tan sofa  I folded a green blanket and placed it on one of the shelves. Attempting to add a homey touch to the room I stopped and glanced around. Pleased with the outcome I gently knocked on her door. Opening the door with a frown on her face, she placed her hands on her  hips raising a perfectly shaped eyebrow at me. Oh god she was beautiful even when she was pissed. Actually it was kind of a turn on I smirked. Shaking the thoughts from my head I plastered a smile on my face hoping it would offset her sour mood.

“I have a surprise for you.”

“Not interested.” She growled and slammed the door in my face. A frown formed on my face, I was pretty sure I looked like a deranged animal, but I didn’t care. My brow creased as I stormed into her room.

“Hey get out of my room!” she screamed.

“First off my house my rules, second off what has you in such a sour mood.” As I said every word I walked closer until I was looming over her small figure. “But here listen here, I got you something, its in the third room on the right. If you want to sit here and pout all day go ahead! Honestly you look pretty damn adorable when you pout so I don’t give a shit. When you want to come talk to me I will be in the living room.”  Getting louder with each word I saw a look of anger and happiness cross her flawless face. Walking out slamming the door behind me I instantly regretted my harsh words, but I was just so mad! I have done everything I possibly can to make her conferrable, buying her all those clothes and making up that new room for her with all of the things she liked to do. I was even trying to find a way out of the law so I didn’t have to kill her after-after, I couldn’t even think of that! That is how much she has bewitched me. Laughing slightly to myself I thought, damn if my friends found out that me, all powerful player was falling for a human girl I would be the laughing stock of the kingdom. Ha woman. Cant live with them, clearly! But you can not live without them either..
