    Chapter Thirty seven

Alexander’s P.O.V

Looking over at Amir’s lifeless body I saw his chest slowly rising, he was alive, my father had moved his body next to me. After untying Calista because he knew she could not run while having contractions, she lay on the floor covered in sweat and tears and there was nothing we could do about it.

A few hours later, Amir had regained consciousness and my father was growing annoyed. It seems that one of the babies has its shoulder stuck, leaving it impossible to deliver him safely.

“Amir.” I whispered. Looking up he nodded his head inclining that he was listening, he was in no better shape than Calista was, he was drenched in blood and if it were not for the fact that Calista was still alive I am sure he would be dead. “Take the knife out of your side and hand it to me.”

“That’s it boys, it's taking far too long.” My father said standing up.

“What are you doing?” I snarled at my father as Amir handed me the knife. Starting to cut away at the chains that held me, my father grabbed a knife from the table walking back to Calista. Her eyes grew as wide as saucers. Kneeling down, he cut into her stomach, her scream pierced my ears and echoed in the empty basement. Her blood was pooling around her small pale body, in a matter of moments I heard two small cries. My kids I smiled. Cutting the chains faster my father set the two small babies in a blanket in a basket on the stairs. Calista was bleeding out, her breaths were short and quick. Just as I cut threw the chains my father was set on fire, running through the window.

“Did you?” I turned looking at Amir.

“Yes, I guess this is why us Fae bind our magic as well as our souls” Both of us rushed over to Calista’s side, she was no longer breathing.

“I’m so sorry baby, I should have been there, I should have fought harder.” I kissed her blood dyed face.

“Alexander, there has to be something we can do.” He yelled pressing a blanket to his stomach. “ T-Turn her! Turn her into a vampire.” he stuttered.

“There hasn’t been a made vampire in thousands of years, I don’t know if it will work.”

    “You have to try.”

“Okay, go check on the kids okay?” Nodding he walked over and sat on the stairs looking at the two crying babies. Reaching for the knife I sliced my wrist and brought it to her mouth. Holding her head up I let the blood run down her throat. She might be too far dead to even turn now, her heart had stopped beating a few moments before. After a few minutes I laid her gently back on the floor. Watching, we were both watching for any signs that the turn was taking, but nothing came. Silent tears ran down both of our faces, walking over I picked up my little girl and held her.

    “Their beautiful.” Amir said.

“Yes they are. She looks just like her mother.” I said looking down at the girl staring up at me with big green eyes filled with trust.

“Look.” He said pointing to Calista, her stomach had healed, her face lost all color, her hair was darker more rich brown. Her skin seemed to shine with a light silver luster. Her wings were slowly becoming more silver as they reached the tips.

“What’s happening to her?” Amir asked.

    “I-I don’t know..”
