    Chapter Twenty nine

    Calista P.O.V

Walking thru the castle doors I couldn’t help the wave of fear that ran through me. I had after all tried to kill my father, he had to be mad about that. Amir placed a hand on my back gently propelling me forward as if he was sensing my fear. Gabriel came running down the stairs, bringing me into a hug I was shocked at the sudden display of affection. When I had first met him he hardly seemed the type to hug his sister.

“Don’t you ever run away like that again!” He scolded. Flabbergasted at the order I looked him in the eyes with a blank expression.

“Um I’m sorry I worried you?” I said it almost like it was a question. Pulling away from the hug he looked me in the eyes.

“Just because I was cold to you when we first met does not mean I do not care, you are my sister, and you go off running away after setting fire to our father. It tends to worry your brother a little.” He admitted.

“Well you know he had kidnapped my husband correct?” I questioned.

“I know that now, I was not completely fond of the idea of you being with a vampire but I was willing to work with it. Father just wants what’s best for you, and he believed that meant removing Alexander from the picture. He means well Calista.”

“ I’m here aren’t I? I plan on giving everyone a second chance here, mostly because it's what’s best for my baby at the moment. My baby needs its father, I do intend on going back to him once its safe for me to leave.” Nodding his head Gabriel smiled in relief.

“Okay then, why don’t I show you to your room, father has asked to have dinner with you tonight both Amir and I will be present, also we have made a doctor appointment for you because we doubt that you have had one since you got pregnant.” Nodding my head he placed my hand on the nook of his arm and lead me to my new room.

“ We have had a new room prepared for you, it will accommodate you and your baby, with two rooms a bathroom a living room and a balcony.  Same as last time you will have a personal handmaid, your clothes have been brought and placed in the closet.”

“Okay. Gabriel, can I ask you something?”

    “Of course.”

“Father doesn’t want to kill my baby does he?”

“I don’t think he would have bought baby clothes and toys if he was not expecting to have a grandchild sister dear.” He said with a slight laugh.

“Okay good.” I laughed halfheartedly. Walking into the room I was surprised at the splendor that was laid out before me. My room was in all shades of green and gold, the baby’s room was a mountain seen with a ivory crib and clouds painted on the ceiling.

    “You like it?”

“Its perfect.” Smiling happily Gabriel lead me out the door and we walked a short distance to the doctors office. As soon as we walked in Amir was waiting in the room with the ultrasound machine.

    “Uh what’s he doing here?”

“Moral support.” Amir admitted shrugging his shoulders. The doctor walked in a few moments later, she had curly honey blond hair, grey eyes and seemed kind and gentle enough. She had me lay on the table taking out a needle I stiffened and shrugged away.

“I’m only taking blood so I can see the vitamins I need to give you in your prenatal care.” She said in a soothing voice.

“I’m not the biggest fan of needles.” I admitted. Nodding her head she whispered something to Gabriel and Amir, Gabriel gently grabbed my hand while Amir hugged me so I couldn’t move.

“Hey what are you- Ow!! That hurt!” I yelled annoyed at what just happened. Growling as Amir traced lines on my spine Gabriel quickly released my hand and pulled Amir away.

“Their all done, now lets take a look at that baby.” She said with a gentle smile. Gently pushing me back onto the table she lifted up my shirt revealing my small baby bump. Placing the cold blue jelly on my stomach she moved the wand around looking for the baby.

“You hear that? that’s the baby’s heartbeat.” she said while looking at the screen, listening I heard the fast thumping sound and couldn’t help but smile. “Well I am pleased to report you have a healthy boy and girl.” she said wiping the jelly of my stomach.

“Wait a boy and a girl?”

“Yes you have twins.” Oh my god, twins, and- and Alex won't get to see them. Suddenly the room started to get hot, I felt like I was being choked. I couldn’t breath. I got up quickly from the table only to fall to the floor, the room was spinning, my vision was blurring in and out. I could hear the frantic voices of the people around me, the last thing I saw was Gabriel and Amir leaning over me the last thing I felt was Amir placing my head in his lap whispering words of comfort before I blacked out.
