    Chapter sixteen.

Alexander’s P.O.V

Carrying Calista Small frame I placed her in the front seat of my car. After packing most of her things as well as mine I called my parents and after explaining everything, my father reluctantly invited us to stay at the place, my mother on the other hand was bouncing off the walls, she has been waiting for me to find my soul mate for a while now and was eager to plan a wedding.  My father wasn’t so keen on the idea of her being a shadow marked and didn’t know how the law would work if she was half human, he claimed he would look into the matter. Driving off onto the highway I texted Lilly to meet us there, she responded almost instantly saying okay and that I better have not done anything stupid. Laughing I looked over at Calista and smiled. I couldn’t wait for her to meet my family. I knew they were going to love her. Thinking about the future to come I drove off into the silent black night.

    Calista P.O.V

Waking up I rolled over expecting to see Alex instead I saw an empty bed that I did not recognize. Bolting upright wide awake I took in my surroundings. The room was large and painted a chocolate brown color. The windows were stain glass red not allowing light through them. I was laying on a gold satin bedspread still in my ball gown with my tiara placed on the nightstand. Getting up I slowly walked out of the room and into a guy that looked a lot like Alex only ten years younger.

“Oh I’m sorry!” I quickly stammered out.

“Hello Calista, I’m Kyle Alexander’s younger brother.” He said with a smile. Suddenly it all clicked, I was at the Vampire palace

    “Uh hello.” I smiled.

“I take It you would like to see Alex?” Nodding my head watching my curls bounce lightly he told me to follow him and I did. The palace was decorated in all jewel tones, a little too dark for my taste but still beautiful. We walked by pictures and paintings until we stopped in a large common room with red furniture. There sat Alex, a woman who looked around the age of 50 with black hair and brown eyes, their next to her was a man who looked like an older version of  Alex and Kyle. Next to Lilly was a woman with red hair and blue eyes. They were all smiling happily expect for the man who I assumed was Alex’s father. Lilly rushed up and embraced me in a hug.

“Calista!” She squealed excitedly, her happiness was contagious because soon I was hugging and jumping around like she was.

“Lilly!” I exclaimed happily. Pulling apart she looked me over as if to make sure I wasn’t hurt.

“When Alex told us you were Fae I didn’t see it at first but now I do, your so -I don’t know how to explain it but I’m so glad you're not human!” She laughed and led me over to the couches.

“Um thank you, I think.” Sitting next to Alex, Lilly sat next to me on the other side.

“Calista, that is my mom Amelia, my dad Thayer, my brother Kyle and his wife Marina.” He introduced them all to me one by one each of them giving me a smile excluding his father, I wonder why he didn’t like me.

“Oh sweetie she’s perfect!” She explained beaming happiness at me. “I so can not wait to plan the wedding I’m so excited!” Laughing along with them I had almost forgot I was engaged. Lilly grabbed my hand examining my ring as everyone just stared at me. Was this going to be a normal thing for them? Staring at me like that… it was kind of creepy. Letting my walls down I allowed Alex to hear my thoughts, Alex they're not going to eat me are they? Suddenly everyone in the room erupted in laughter. My face turning bright red as I came to the conclusion that they all heard that thought.

“Oh dear that is the most absurd thought I have ever heard, of course we wouldn’t eat you! I want grandbabies!” His mother said. Alex turing an equally deep shade of red at the mention of babies quickly changed the subject.

“So guys why don’t you girls go have some bonding time with Calista, go weeding shopping maybe.” Oh god shopping with Lilly was one thing, if they were anything as bad as her I am so going to kill Alex that, and by the look he was giving me he knew I was going to get payback when I got home.

“That is such a great idea! I need to get to know my future sister in law anyhow.” Marina said quickly grabbing my hand and dragging me out of the house. Lilly grabbed my other hand while Amelia called someone on the phone. Oh god I thought to myself.

“Guys I’m still in a gown! Its too formal to go to the mall.” As soon as I said that they all started to laugh again.

“Oh sweetie we don’t go to the human mall, we go to the market, its sort of a mall but much bigger with all designer clothing, did you know most of the major designers are vampires?” Marina stated.

    “Uh no I did not.”

“Eppe this is going to be so much fun!” Lilly erupted in sequels of happiness.

“But anyways all vampires when we go to places that only vampires are allowed, we dress in nice clothing, so you're dressed perfect for where we are going. And guess what!? There are even a few Fae designers there, well more than a few, but anyways so you should have no problem finding a wardrobe for your wings!” Marina continued. The limo pulled up and the four of us piled in and drove to the market.

Walking threw the market, which was actually like a giant mansion filled with clothes, Amelia said I needed a new wardrobe and I needed to pick out wedding things and said not to worry about money as she reminded me that she was queen. So far I have five bags of clothing, all stabile for my wings, they all promised me one more store, three stores ago. Laughing as they made me get everything I tried on I eventually made them try on some things to. Walking into a wedding store I went to go look at the bridesmaid dresses. Looking at an off the shoulder floor length satin green gown I pointed at that one. Forcing Lilly and Marina to try them on as they would be my bridesmaids, they were measured and Amelia happy with my choice bought the dresses. All three of them rushing me to the next bridal store, which was Fae friendly. Franticly they all ran around grabbing gowns and pushing me into a dressing room. After trying on dress after dress none of them stood out to me, they all on the other hand loved each of them. Sighing I walked to the far corner of the room. There was a winter white dress, strapless my whole back would be visible. The front was laced with diamonds, it was form fitting down to the bottom of my hips where it flared out in a ball gown style, the bottom was hemmed with a pale green embroidery of green vines and flowers that matched the bridesmaid dresses and my eyes. Seeing me looking at the dress Lilly grabbed it and helped me into it stepping out of the dressing room everyone’s mouths dropped and Amelia’s eyes started to tear up.

“This one, definitely this one.” She agreed, as soon as those words were said a person came over and measured , handing me an abundance of shoes and veils. For what seemed hours of looking at shoes and veils I finally settled on a pair of heel sandals, and a veil that had two slits for my wings, with flowers and sparkles woven into it. After buying everything we all walked back to the limo and drove home.

By the time we got home the sky was dark telling me we had been at the market all day. Laughing as the three of them piled into the room I shared with Alex, they talked about where to place clothes and how to organize and I let them, smiling like a fool I thought about the wedding and how real it all suddenly felt, and it was amazing.
