Runic: Caoimhe's Tales and Poems

A collection of original poems and stories

3. Night

The night is a dark cloak of black and purple and blue

Wrapped lightly round the body which is the earth

Little holes in the fabric of night lets one peer out on the day

The trees are as embroidery

And the moon is a button upon the throat of Mother Nature

Her silvery long hair of oceans ebbs and flows

The caress of blindness and drowsy sleep muffles voices to a whisper

Till the earth shall awaken and the hood of night shall be thrown back

And the mountains will paint the skies with red yellow and orange

using cotton brushes called clouds
