13. As I Die

When it comes that I must die

Leave me not to pass the time

In a prison made of stone

Take me to the forest

Where I doth belong

Upon the green moss I shall lay

With my armor hewn so strong

A Celtic song upon my lips

With one last day the sun to kiss

As I lay so close to death

With my sword betwixt my breasts

I’ll tell to every one of you

The stories of my days

Gazing up into the sky

A bright and starry haze

Let my long dark hair my crown

Fall upon the cold hard ground

Allow the wind to caress my cheek

So when I’m in the earth so deep

All I’ll know is blissful sleep
