This is happening as if Louis was never in One Direction, but he does still know the boys.

Ali doesn't want to move. She doesn't want to leave her best friend, Ella, on senior year. Ella was the gorgeous one who always got the boys, while Ali barely ever got a second glance. But when she is forced to move to London, she finds Louis, a boy who is kind hearted and caring.

5. The Unexpected

I slowly opened my eyes, becoming more aware of the bright light surrounding me, as well as the stuff around me. My eyes were fully opened now, and I quickly sat up, feeling the sledge hammers pounding in my head. "Ugggghh." I let out a huge grunt, it was clear now that I had gotten a huge hangover from my night of drinking, so I reached to my end table to grab two advils, popped them into my mouth and swallowed, heading to my bathroom to sip some water from the sink. I looked up at my image in the mirror, I looked like a corpse with my make up from last night smudged all down my face. Great. What time is it anyways? I walked out of the bathroom, peering at my phone. 11 a.m. it says. But I also noticed the little notification underneath the time, a message from Louis. I didn't want to look at it right now, and if I opened it, it would show I read it, so I just went to have shower and get ready.

When I was done, I grabbed some brunch, since it was 12:30, and black coffee. I was drinking my coffee when my phone starting blaring "Drops of Jupiter". That was Louis' ringtone, I had set it as that after the day he sang it in the car. I decided to answer it, curious as to why he was calling. "Hello?" I say, carrying my coffee into my room so I could talk privately, even though both my parents were at work and I think Hayden had left for the mall with her friends at 11:30.

"Hey, you are up. You didn't text me back." Louis said hushed, sounding worried.

"Yeah, sorry, I just woke up recently." I almost whispered, not feeling the need to speak too loud.

"Oh, okay. How are you feeling?"

"That's good." Louis said. An awkward silence lingered through the atmosphere. "I wa-" He started saying something, but I interrupted, not knowing a reason why.

"Look Louis, I'm sorry, but I gotta go. I need to run errands and pick up dinner." I don't think I sounded too convincing, but my heart was aching, and as much as I wanted to ask him if he remembered last night, I wasn't positive if I actually wanted to know.

"Oh, okay. Text me, please. You know, when you can."

"I promise." And with that, I hung up.

~ ~ ~

It had been close to five hours since Louis phoned me, and I felt so lonely. I missed him so much, I couldn't bear it anymore. I picked up my phone, about to dial his number, when my phone started singing, "And tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet? Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day?" I answered it instantly.

"Hey Lou, I was actually just about to call you."

I could feel him smile through his tone of voice. "Were you, now?"

"Yes." I drag out the 's', making it sound slightly like a hiss.

"Actually Ali, I called because you seem a little stressed. Is everything alright?" Boy, was he right.

I started shaking, thinking of how to say the words that formed in my mind. "Uhm, actually, no. I need to ask you something. But I don't want to do it over the phone. Can we meet somewhere?"

"Yeah, why don't you just wait outside? I'll pick you up and we can chat, okay?"

"Okay, see you in a bit, Lou."

"See you."

I shoved my phone into my bag that was laying on my bed, grabbed a sweater, and released my hair from the messy bun that held it. My wavy curls flowed to just above where the clasp of my bra was, looking tasseled. I heard a few honks, signalling that he was waiting for me. I slipped down the stairs and out the door, to find Louis sitting in his car, just as he was last night. As I opened the door, Louis kept his eyes ahead to my house, but when the passenger door closed, he peeked at me, smiling almost sympathetically. "You got here fast!" Seriously, it only took him about a minute.

"Yeah, well I guess I forgot to tell you I live just around the corner."

"What's wrong, Alizandra?" He basically whispered, if he was any quieter I'd have to ask him to repeat himself.

"Can we go to a parking lot or a field or somewhere more private?" I snuck a look at him, tears brimming in my eyes. Why am I almost crying? It was nothing, I just needed to know. I bit my lip and tensed my butt muscled, causing the tears to go away.

"Of course, love." Louis spoke those words, and it made me wonder even more. I was so deep into thought, I hadn't realized he had pulled out of my drive way and was parking near an abandoned field. He turned off the ignition, and looked at me, waiting for me to talk.

I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and opened my eyes. Just ask, it's a simple question. "Do you remember any of last night?" I stared into his beautiful eyes, but he looked away.

"I had a feeling this would be about that."

"Well, do you remember?"

"Yes." I looked up, he looked as hurt and confused as I felt.

"Do you remember what happened, i-i-in the closet?" I suddenly felt insecure, scared.

"I do. Ali, I wasn't drunk. I had one beer, but only because I knew I had to be sober to get you home safe. Do you remember what happened, Ali?"

I bit my lip, looking away. "Yeah, I do. I do remember the kiss, Lou."

"I don't regret it," He paused, I turned my head to look at him, shaking his head slightly. "in fact, I wish I did it sooner. I just didn't want to ruin our friendship." Louis swiped his beautiful brown hair to the side, creating a very sexy mess of locks upon his crown.

"I-I don't regret it either Louis. At all. I'm just confused to where it leaves us."

I'm surprised by the feeling of his slightly rough fingers touching just under my chin, lifting my face up to look him in the eyes. "Well, I'm hoping this will tell you my answer to that question, and maybe it'll help you agree with me." His lips quickly smashed down on mine, not too hard, but hard enough for me to be surprised by the pressure. He moved his lips, adjusting my head as he did so. I couldn't resist. I closed my eyes and started kissing him back. It felt so good to be this close to him.

He pulled away slightly, so we were about a centimetre away from our lips touching again. "I-is this your way of asking me out?" I asked, to which he replied "I guess it is." I grinned so huge, my jaw hurt. I then a leapt forward, wrapped my arms around his neck, and kissed him. This left him erupting in laughter, which had vibrated my lips, causing me to giggle.

The peck I had initially went for escalated quickly into a heated kiss, his hand cupping my face, my fingers tangling into the baby hairs at the top of his neck. The sides of my lips curved upward, and I felt Louis' imitate the movement of mine. Then Louis slowly inched away, turning his head slightly to the right, towards the radio. "We've been doing this for 17 minutes, Ali." He turns back to me, smiling cheekily. Was that a slight blush a saw creeping under his eyes? Seeing him blush forced me to look away, otherwise I'm almost certain I'd blush ten times harder.

Suddenly, my head shot up. "I just remembered I have to be home by six, for my family dinner."

"Alright, love, let's get you home then." I moved back over so I was seated back on the passenger's side, and buckled myself in. Lou started the ignition, and we were off. The whole ten minute drive home, I kept stealing glances at him. From his high cheek bones, to his defined jaw line, to the crooked smile he gave me when he caught me looking. Whenever I got busted, I looked away, blushing more and more every time.

When we reached my three floor, main floor entry house with a three car garage, I kept making excuses not to go.

"Just one more kiss?" I asked for possibly the fifth time. Louis rolled his eyes, showing off his pearly white teeth in a small grin, leaned in and kissed me on the lips.

"Don't want to go?" I shook my head. He pulled me in, my head now resting on his chest. "Well, I don't want you to go, either. But maybe we could hang out tomorrow?"

Just the thought had lightened my mood. "If you want to."

"Of course I do." He rubbed my back lightly before we pulled away from each other. "Just text me, okay?"

The corners of his mouth lifted as I said "I promise." With that, I slid out the door, and stepped up the stairs. I turned around to see Louis waiting there in his car, eyes on me. Smiling, I blew him a kiss. He caught it and placed his hand to his lips, just as he had the night before. I then turned and entered my house with the dreamiest look on my face. My mom was now making her way over to me.

"How was your day, Alizandra?" she asked.

"Fantastic." I spoke, smiling at the ground.

"That's good. Now wash up; dinner's on the table."
