5. Have Fun.

Katherine’s P.O.V.:

After seeing the poster with the members of One Direction’s face on it, I hadn’t gone out of the hotel room for two days. I didn’t want to bump into any of them by any chance or coincidence. So I stayed in the hotel room lying on the bed.

The only time I got out of the hotel room in those two days was when Hunter was hooking up with some girl-both being drunk. They came into the room all over each other and snogging against the wall slowly unclothing each other.

I was in no mood to watch the show those two were putting on in front of me, and so I slipped out of the room with a book to read. I left the room unnoticed and sat outside the hotel room. I sat against the door and began reading my book soon being disturbed by noises made from in the room.

By then I fell asleep and was awaken by Ryan. When he woke me up, he treated me a lot more differently than before. He seemed a lot nicer when he and I were alone.

I got up and followed him back into the hotel room. By that time Hunter and the girl were done with their thing and were both asleep.

Ryan let me sleep on his bed. At first I was nervous on that because they always made me sleep on the couch.  But I was so exhausted that I went under the covers and went right to sleep.

Ryan didn’t sleep next to me; instead he took the couch. I didn’t know where his sudden change of personality came from, but it was a sign that he was changing and that was good for me.

I was pretty alone in those two days though. All I had that was entertaining was the television in the room. Nothing good was ever on in America right now. There was a bunch of trashy reality shows that annoyed me. I didn’t want watch the entertainment news shows in fear that they would mention something about me or Zayn. So I ended watching the news all day and eating whatever foods that Ryan or Hunter brought in.

I swear the food these boys have brought into the room has probably made me gain a pound or two. All I’ve been eating is junk food and it is terribly delicious.

Finally after those two days of staying the room with nothing but eating unhealthy food and watching endless hours of television, Ryan surprisingly came in and began trying to coax me to go outside.

Ryan’s P.O.V.:

Katherine keeps causing something in my head to off. I don’t what it is; I’m thinking its cause of her.

Sometimes, all I could think about is her, which is strange. Around Hunter I act as if I don’t care about her at all, when something keeps pushing me to care.

Hunter doesn’t like Katherine much. He thinks she’s annoying and whining about too many things. But he does think she’s hot. It bothers me whenever he tells me about how good she looks. He wants her and I don’t want that to happen.

When I let her go off alone down The Strip the first night, I had a feeling of trust with her which was weird to me because I don’t even know her at all. And I knew that she’d come back to us after she was done shopping that night.

Since Katherine has made herself stay in the hotel room, I can’t help but feel guilty that I’ve dragged her with us. And it was only a matter of time that Hunter will drug her or something just to get to sleep with her. So I forced her to go outside and have fun.

I entered the room and saw Katherine sitting crisscrossed on the bed watching television. She didn’t even bother looking at me or say hello. Her hair was in a bun and her eyes were on the screen. She had a big cup of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream in her hands. Her favorite flavor was chocolate chip cookie dough- wait how I even know that.

“Hello.” I said clearing my voice for her attention. She remained staring at the tv screen ignoring me.

“Katherine.” I said her name sharply.

She finally turned away from the tv annoyed with me, “What?”

“Uh… Get up we’re going out.” I told her. Then I thought about what I said and fixed it, “I mean we’re going out to do stuff. Not like bad stuff but like to have fun.”

“What kind of fun?” Katherine raised a suspicious brow.

“Fun fun. Just get ready and let’s go.” I said.

“Why are you taking me out? I’m perfectly fine in here.” Katherine told me. I can tell she’s lying. I know she would be bored out of her mind-wait how did I assume that…

“No you’re not. It’s Vegas, get out and have fun Kat.” I called her Kat?

Katherine was surprised at calling her Kat and her expression changed for a second. But then she went back to push me away “Shouldn’t be out partying and getting it with a girl or something.” She rolled her eyes.

“No I want to have fun with you; not ‘get it’ with a girl. C’mon we’re going out. If you don’t come outside in ten minutes, I’m leaving.” I was done with persuading her.

I left the room not letting her say a word. I waited outside for her and paced back and forth. I was beginning to think she wasn’t going to come out. But then she opened the door and walked out all cleaned up.

Her hair was down and naturally curled. She wore casual clothes and had a small purse with her stuff.

“Let’s go.” I was going to reach for her hand, but I had an inhibition on that and pulled back.

We made our way out of the pyramid shaped hotel in silence. She looked like she was in thought and I didn’t have the best way in starting a conversation.

It was nighttime and the lights the city shined was incredible. We began walking outside together down the crowded streets.

“Where you taking me?” Katherine asked stopping the silence between us.

“Somewhere fun.” I answered.

“Where is somewhere fun?” Katherine asked. We crossed the street and we faced the New York, New York Hotel.

I looked up and saw the roller coaster above us and heard the shrill screams. The Statue of Liberty was smaller and in front of us.

“There.” I pointed at the roller coaster.

Katherine’s P.O.V.

I looked up and saw the roller coaster. Oh no oh no. I can’t ride that. It was very high up and narrow. The screams made my stomach feel bad. I was not going to ride that. But then I thought about Ryan and his change of attitude. If I go along with this, it might make him remember more about us.

So I kept myself in calm and smiled in agreeing to ride it. It was supposed to be fun right.

I followed him and walked into the hotel lobby to ride the coaster.
