Wanted You More

Bethany is top in her class, head-strong, and basically you're definition of a perfect girl but she has no intention of trying to be like every other girl and try to get Harry, the popular, good looking, soccer star, to like her...in fact, she doesn't really like him. But when Bethany is assigned to help Harry get his grades up and he realizes that Bethany is different than everyone else, will Bethany cave into giving Harry a chance or will she continue to stick to her idea that he is a spoiled, stuck up ass?

Includes sex, drugs, alcohol, self harm references/actions, and cursing.

55. She's Special

The next day, I couldn’t show up to school. I couldn’t stand to face Bethany in the first four lessons we had together. It would’ve killed me. The way she looked at me when I sang the song was pure love, but as soon as I blew it all off, she looked…hurt. I always found a way to screw stuff up.

“Harry…?” My mom walked into my room and sat on the bed next to me.

“Yeah?” I whispered, rolling over to face the wall, afraid of crying again.

“What is so special about this girl?” I sniffled, feeling the burn in my eyes.

“Everything.”

“Is that why you seem so off lately?” I nodded, not able to form words from my lips quivering. “Maybe you should give her some space- let her realize how great of a person you really are. She needs some space to figure things out.”

“It’s so hard when all I want to do is make her happy.”

“Let her come to you, baby. Once she has some time to think, she’ll come to you. I’m not saying ignore her, but don’t start the conversation first. Let her always start the talking.” I rolled over to look at my mom with blood shot eyes.

“Why are you helping me? You’ve never helped me before…why now?”

“Because I’m your mother and I’ve realized how much your dad has done to destroy our relationship but it’s all going to change.”

“How? What he did to Gem, and what he did to us is always going to be there.”

“Sweetie…you’re dad was arrested.” My breathe caught in my throat and that’s when the tears really started falling. “It’s going to be okay.” I nodded and rolled back over, ashamed to look at my mom. “I hope you get some sleep and feel better.” My mom leaned over to kiss my head before walking out of my room, closing the door behind her.
