Wanted You More

Bethany is top in her class, head-strong, and basically you're definition of a perfect girl but she has no intention of trying to be like every other girl and try to get Harry, the popular, good looking, soccer star, to like her...in fact, she doesn't really like him. But when Bethany is assigned to help Harry get his grades up and he realizes that Bethany is different than everyone else, will Bethany cave into giving Harry a chance or will she continue to stick to her idea that he is a spoiled, stuck up ass?

Includes sex, drugs, alcohol, self harm references/actions, and cursing.

44. Prince vs. Douche

Bethany:

I didn’t understand why he had to be such an ass to be today. I quickly wiped the tears away as I practically ran home. I had avoided Liam, not wanting to deal with him today. My feet carried me faster than I thought they could. I don’t know why I let Harry affect me the way he does but I feel like I can’t help it. Part of me likes him; the other part of me could kill him in seconds if I was ever given that chance.

This is the problem with liking two different guys. The fact they were both two total opposites didn’t really help either. One of them was just how I was in the beginning of the year- innocent, always following the rules; then we have Harry. He’s so outgoing, adventurous…and he makes life fun. He goes after what he wants and it makes him so much more attractive. Why did I have to be the one that got assigned to be his tutor? If I wasn’t assigned to be his tutor, none of this would’ve ever happened…

When I got home, I ran up to my room and quickly got ready for work. I really didn’t want to be questioned by my parents. I would rather get to work a few minutes early. Just as I was about to walk out, my phone started ringing. I looked at the caller ID and sighed.

“Hey Liam.” I said, finally answering.

“Hey, where were you after school? I couldn’t find you.”

“I was in a rush. I totally forgot to meet up with you.”

“Oh…” I closed my eyes, suppressing more tears. I knew I liked Harry, but making Liam sad killed me.

“I’m so sorry babe…”

“Well…what are you doing now?”

“I’m getting for work.” I said quietly. Liam was silent on the other line, making me nervous. “Are you okay? Are you mad at me?”

“No. I just miss you.”

“I miss you too babe. I’m just…so busy as of late. I swear I’m not trying to avoid you.”

“I would hope not.”

“I don’t have the heart to ignore you.” I said, trying to sound sweet.

“Awe, well aren’t you cute?” I sighed, knowing it had slightly worked.

“I try to be.”

“You are beautiful in my eyes.” I smiled again. That’s another difference- Harry most likely wouldn’t call me beautiful. He’d probably call me sexy or something like that…and I’m not the type of girl who wants to be called that. Knowing I had Liam, the better of the two, made me smile even more. “Babe, are you still there?”

“Oh, yeah, sorry.  I was thinking.”

“About?” Liam asked, sounding curious.

“Just about how much I love you.” I whispered.

“I love you too. Now have fun at work.”

“Oh Jesus…no promises.” I joked, making Liam laugh.

“Call me when you get home, alright?”

“Yup; I will.”

“Cool. I’ll talk to you later.

“Talk to you later.” I said before hanging up. I sighed and shoved my phone in my back pocket, grabbed my stuff, and ran out of the house. Why me…why did I have to be the one who got stuck in this situation?

A half hour later, I clocked in at work and went to find Kelsey. I finally found her refilling some drinks in the bar.

“Hey there.” I said, walking up.

“Hey sunshine- you look ready to take on the human population that spends their good, old, fucking time here.” Kelsey said.

“Someone’s having a good day.”

“Oh please…do I ever?” I giggled and shook my head.

“Nah, but you’re normally better at hiding it.” Kelsey rolled her eyes.

“I’ll be right back.” I nodded as Kelsey brought the drinks out. She came back a few seconds later and started retying her ponytail. “How about you? How’s your day going?”

“Oh god…don’t even get me started.”

“That bad, huh?’

“How do you choose between two guys that are two totally opposite people?”

“You pick the one that treats you better or you love the single life…like me.” Kelsey said, raising her hand. I shook my head and smiled.

“Trust me…if I could pick the better one, I’m with him.”

“So what’s the other guy like?”

“A douche bag.” Kelsey nodded.

“I see the problem- prince or douche. I’d stay with prince charming…douche bags only cause trouble.”

“No shit!” I half yelled, making Kelsey laugh.

“There’s your first table; don’t start telling them about your problems.” I shoved Kelsey, making her smile.

“Shut up.” I mumbled as I walked out to start working.
