Wanted You More

Bethany is top in her class, head-strong, and basically you're definition of a perfect girl but she has no intention of trying to be like every other girl and try to get Harry, the popular, good looking, soccer star, to like her...in fact, she doesn't really like him. But when Bethany is assigned to help Harry get his grades up and he realizes that Bethany is different than everyone else, will Bethany cave into giving Harry a chance or will she continue to stick to her idea that he is a spoiled, stuck up ass?

Includes sex, drugs, alcohol, self harm references/actions, and cursing.

5. Deal

The next morning, I made sure I got to school early so I could sit in the front knowing for a fact that Harry would sit in the back since all he did was slack. It was a surprise to me that he was even passing anymore. He had to pass all classes if he wanted to continue playing soccer this year. If he was failing one class, he would be benched until it was proven that he was passing.

“Ah, Bethany…I’m glad you’re here.” I looked up and noticed Mrs. Hall was talking with Harry and a bunch of our other teachers.

“Uhm…why?” I asked, suddenly nervous.

“You know the rules about playing a sport and failing, right?” Mr. Jones asked me. I nodded my head wordlessly, knowing where this was going.

“Harry here is falling behind. We told him we would get him a tutor so he could keep up with his school work so he could continue to play soccer. We were wondering if you could tutor him once or twice a week.” Miss. Smith asked me. I swallowed slowly and looked at Harry. His green eyes were sparkling as always, and he had that stupid smirk on his face just to top it all off.

“I’m not sure…between work and my school work…” I started.

“Think about it and let us know by tomorrow.” Mrs. Hall said. I nodded and walked to my seat. The other teachers walked out and Harry sat down next to me, instead of the back like he normally does.

“I have to make some copies…I’ll be right back.” Mrs. Hall said as she left the room, leaving me alone with Harry. I tried to suppress a groan.

“Do you have a problem with me?” Harry asked.

“Yes.” I said without missing a beat.

“Why? I never did anything to you.”

“I don’t care. I don’t like you. You expect everything to be handed to you and it pisses me off. I don’t like you.”

“You don’t like me because I know how to get people to do things for me?”

“It’s selfish and coincided. Can we stop talking now?”

“Tutor me.”

“I don’t think so.”

“Please? I really don’t want to fail. You’re the top person in our class…I can’t miss soccer.” Harry begged of me. I looked at him for the second time today and he actually looked genuinely scared to lose his position in soccer.

“Fine…on one condition.”

“What’s that?” Harry asked, getting eager.

“You don’t talk to me in school, outside of school, or anywhere; the only place you can talk to me is during tutoring.” I said. Harry smiled again and nodded.

“Deal.” He held his hand out for me to shake. I gingerly grabbed one of his fingers and shook it once before dropping his hand and reaching for sanitizer from my purse. “Wow…hurtful.”

“I thought you said you wouldn’t talk to me?” I snapped.

“Right…sorry. My lips are sealed.” Harry said, pulling a fake zipper over his lips. I almost let a smile creep onto my lips but I was able to hold it down as I turned back around. Thankfully, the bell rang and Mrs. Hall came walking back in so I didn’t need to deal with Harry anymore.
