Wanted You More

But when Bethany is assigned to help Harry get his grades up and he realizes that Bethany is different than everyone else, will Bethany cave into giving Harry a chance or will she continue to stick to her idea that he is a spoiled, stuck up ass?

51. Breaks

Monday afternoon at lunch, Bethany was nowhere to be seen. She wasn’t in any lessons and she still wasn’t here.

“Have any of you seen Bethany today?” I asked, walking up to the lunch table. Liam glared at me but almost immediately he looked away. Bethany must’ve told him what happened.

“No, I haven’t seen her all day.” Louis said slowly.

“Damnit…”

“Why?” Louis asked.

“I just…had to talk to her.” Louis shrugged before turning back to his conversation with Zayn. I wanted to talk to her about what had happened between us and now I wanted to know what happened with Liam. I was so out of the loop and I hated it.

After school, I drove to her house but her mom said she wasn’t home and that she was at work. I drove myself to where Bethany worked and saw her helping some people.

“Table for one?” The hostess asked. I looked at her and shook my head.

“I just need to talk to Bethany.”

“She’s working.”

“It’ll take a few minutes.” I pushed past her and chased after Bethany. “BETHANY!” I yelled, causing a few people to look my way. Bethany glanced at me than turned back around and hurried away as fast as she could. I quickened my pace and grabbed her arm, making her face me.

“Let me go, Harry.” She ripped her arm from my grip and turned back around.

“Why won’t you talk to me?!”

“Isn’t it obvious? I still don’t like you.” Bethany said without looking at me before walking away. Tears welled up in my eyes. I quickly turned and walked out of the restaurant before anyone could see anything. After everything that happened on Friday, she still hated me…

Bethany:

I took my break early. After Harry showed up at my work, and asked me what was going on, I couldn’t handle it anymore. I had to break down. I went into the break room and sat on a chair in the corner and cried, not quite sure what else to do.

“Bethany, are you okay?” I looked up and saw my boss.

“Yeah, I’m alright.” I stood up and went to walk around him.

“Take the rest of the week off- you deserve a break. Come back next Monday.”

“Are you sure…?”

“Yes- now get out.” I nodded and took of my uniform and walked out. I took the bus home, not sure what else to do. I wanted to talk to Harry. But I couldn’t; not after what I said to him in the restaurant.
