My Romeo.

Chapter 5.

On The Run.

Sam's POV:

No. He can't be here! "Stay here," I told Georgie. "Please."

She nodded, and sat down on the stairs, facing the front door. "Who is it?" she asked, curiously.

"Shh." I placed my finger over my mouth. She nodded, agreeing.

I opened the door a crack, peering through. "Aye! Sam, my buddy!" Jack cried, pushing the door open further. "It's been forever!"

"Jack what the hell are you doing here?" I barked, angrily.

"Well, I just thought that I should formally meet your girlfriend here. I mean, shouldn't the girlfriend always meet the best friend?" he asked, smirking at me.

"She's not my girlfriend, and you're not my best friend. Hell, we're not even friends. So get the hell away from her." I warned, getting up in his face.

He evilly chuckles. "She's beautiful, Sammy. So... so... sexy. I'd hate to ruin her life by letting her fall in love with an incredibly lame guy such as you."

"Get out. Now." I barked, anger running through my veins.

"No, not without her."

"I said, get out. Now." I pushed him toward the door harshly, but he didn't like it.

In one swift motion, he punched me in the face. I kicked him in the groin, and he fell to the ground.

"Sam!" Georgie screamed. My head spun to her direction, and I saw one of Jack's men dragging her toward the back door.

"Georgie!" I screamed, sprinting toward her. "Don't you touch her!"

Tackling the man to the ground, I ordered Georgie to run upstairs and hide. She ran up the stairs as I continued to beat this guy up. But, it wasn't long until I heard Georgie scream again.

"DONT TOUCH ME!" I heard her scream, and then a large thump.

I charged up the stairs and into her bedroom to see Jack on the floor, writhing around. Georgie was in the middle of the room, with her softball bat in hand. A smile spread across my face, as I watched her smile triumphantly back at me.

I cracked up laughing. "Snap, I should watch myself around you. Who knows when you'll bring out the bat!"

She giggled cutely, walking over to me. She placed the bat in my hands, and stood beside me, facing Jack. Jack was now standing up with a horrible scowl on his face. He then began to limp towards us. "I'm not done with you," he spat at Georgie.

I protectively stood in front of her. "If you touch her, you're dead." I growled.

His face scrunched up in anger as he reached inside his jacket. "Georgie! Get to the car! Now!" I yelled to her, shoving her over to the door.

"B-but... What about you?" she asked, scared.

"Don't worry about me. If I'm not out there in five minutes... Go without me. The address is in the car. Now go!"

Georgie's POV:

I ran out to the car, and hopped into the driver's seat. How did this happen to me? I was a normal sixteen year old girl two days ago... And then Sam came into my life. He's different, obviously he has some explaining to do about what he does for a living instead of going to school... But I know I can trust him.

He wont hurt me. He doesn't want to hurt me. With him, I'm safe. Speaking of safe... He's going to take me to a safe place. Away from the danger here. But, he's inside there... Probably getting hurt. I scrunch my face up in pain as I picture him lying there; he's bruised, bloody, and dead.

Everything in me was screaming, 'Go help him! Hurry!' but my heart was telling me to slow down, calm down, he needs me. Not in there, but here. In this car, he needs me. When he comes running out of the house, he'll jump in, and we'll speed off towards our Safe Haven.... Wait.

The keys! Where are the keys?!

"Keys... Keys..." I nervously talk to myself. "Where are the freaking keys?!"

I overturn everything in my sight, looking for the keys. They're nowhere. Where would he put them?! Obviously, he thought of everything, so the keys must be in here somewhere... I look up in frustration, and see the sun blocker thingies.

Pulling down one of them, something falls into my lap... THE KEYS! At that exact time, Sam comes running out of the house, straight for the car. I fumble with the keys, sticking them in the ignition, and quickly turn on the car. When it suddenly roared to life, I knew that my life would never be the same. Sam has forever changed it... But I couldn't help but feel like it's going to be for the better...
