7. More Than Friends

 Liam's P.O.V.

"Guys, hurry! She'll be here any minute!," I exclaimed nervously as my phone buzzed with another text. It was from Alex Skivelskey. (I know, unique name.) She was a really pretty fan that I had convinced to give the last note to Cora. Of course, she was in no way as beautiful Coral. I paced impatiently as the boys finished hanging the decorations. "You know, it would've gone faster if you helped," Louis said smartly. I ignored him, my focus instead on the sound of a truck's engine approaching. "She's here! She is here! Do I look okay?," I panicked. "Mate, you look fine. Stop freaking out. Now, we need to go," Zayn said, as he calmly backed away with the others. Her door was opened and shut, and I couldn't control my breathing. My heart began beating out of control at the sound of her feet hitting the path. As soon as she saw me, she stopped in her tracks. Before I knew it, we were running towards each other, and I swept her into my arms. "LiLi, I missed you so much," she sobbed into my neck, while I rubbed her back. "I missed you too, Coral." I loved using my pet name for her again. Then, I realized something. With her there, I felt complete. I felt as if the darkness on my heart had suddenly vanished. That's when I knew it. I loved Cora Morrez. I was in love with my best friend. But now, I wished we were more than friends.

 Normal (Cora's) P.O.V.

At that moment, I felt as if I was on top of the world. Liam had me in his arms, stroking my hair as I ruined his button-up shirt. When I finally looked up from his neck, I saw that the Grove was decorated with colored lights and streamers. I stepped away from him as I walked around, until he cleared his throat. I faced him, and saw he was holding my bracelet. "Coral, I wanted to say I'm sorry. Sorry for not telling you about the tour, sorry for kissing you, and sorry for not trying to contact you to tell you all this," he said. "But, I also want to say thank you. Thanks for meeting me here, thanks for being my friend, and thank you for not dying your hair black, like last time." My heart fell as he said the word friend. I wanted to be more. Seeing as I had a habit of speaking my mind, that just happened to slip out. "I want to be more," I whispered, immediately looking at the ground, hoping he hadn't heard. He had. I stared at the ground in front of my shoes, until Liam stepped up to me. "What," he asked. "Nothing." "Coral, tell me," he whispered, hooking a finger under my chin, and bringing my face up so that his eyes were gazing into mine. His stare melted my embarrassment, so I repeated myself, louder this time. "I want to be more than just friends." Something in his eyes lit up, causing them to glint. My gaze flickered down to his soft, perfectly shaped pink lips. I glanced up again to find him leaning in. I leaned in as well, and my eyes closed as our lips met. No words can describe what I felt. Wait, one can. Magic. Liam's arms moved to my waist, while mine snaked around his neck. He slowly backed me up until my back hit a tree, licking my bottom lip for entrance. I didn't hesitate to let him in, allowing his tongue to explore my mouth. He pushed me against the tree, his hips pressing to mine. My hands tangled in his hair, pulling slightly, and he moaned against my mouth. He pulled away, breathing heavily. "Want to get a coffee?," he asked casually. I nodded, and he grabbed my hand, pulling me towards the truck. He held his hand out, and I gave him the keys. I thought about where him and I stood. I gazed out the window, dozing off as his thumb rubbed circles on my palm. The gentle motion soon lulled me to sleep.
