Sparks Fly

Madison is long-time best friends with Liam Payne. She grew up with him in their home town of Wolverhampton, England. She goes to London for the summer and stays with him in his flat. While she is there, he wants to introduce her to his best friends and band mates of One Direction. When he introduces her to a certain curly-haired cheeky boy, also known as Harry Styles, sparks begin to fly between them. Liam warns her to stay away from him and, but she doesn’t listen to him. She sneaks out to see him each and every chance they get. Things begin to heat up between Harry and Madison.

A story of love, heartache, friendship, trust, loss.

6. Falling for you

“I’d love to see you again, Maddie,” I tell her as I press a soft kiss to her forehead. “How about tomorrow?” I ask her with a smile while I wait for an answer.

“Same here, sounds good, I’d love to,” she replies as I pull her in to a hug.

She smiles as I hug her a little longer than I planned on doing. I didn’t want to let her go because the feeling of having my arms around her felt great, but I slowly pulled away and gave her a cheeky smile. I smile widely and wave at her before I begin to slowly make my way down to the flat I was currently sharing with Louis and Eleanor. She gives me a smile in reply and waves shyly before grabbing the handle and pushing the door open and walking in.

As I walk back to the door of the flat I was sharing with Louis and Eleanor, I can’t help but smile at the thought of her. What is she doing to me? I am falling for her, I know I am; I am falling hard. I grab hold of the door handle and jiggle it to see if it was locked or not. Sure enough, it wasn’t. Louis left it unlocked again; at least he didn’t leave it wide open.

Rolling my eyes, I push on the door handle and walk right in. Once I walk in, I shut the door with a loud slam and lock it in place. I make my way into the living room to see Louis sitting on the couch with Eleanor, watching some movie on the telly.

“Hey there, Harry,” Louis says with a smile as he looks at me.

“Hey Louis,” I tell him with a smile.

There was silence between the three of us for a few minutes until Louis spoke up, “So, how did it go with Madison today, mate?” Louis asks looking at me as I take a seat beside them on the couch.

“It went great actually,” I say with a wide smile as I feel my cheeks heat up a bit as I begin to think of how my day went since I was with Madison the entire day.

“Ooh, Harry, you’re blushing, you like her, don’t you?” Eleanor questions, a big smile on her lips as she looks over at me.

I let out a sigh before I begin to speak, “I don’t know I’m just kind of worried I guess,” I tell them as I shift my gaze to the floor.

“What are you worried about, Harry? You have nothing to worry about, Madison is a great girl, love,” she tells me with a smile.

I was just worried about what it would do to Madison’s relationship with Liam, especially since they have been friends since forever – if I ever decided to make a move on her, that is. I wanted to badly but I didn’t know what I would do if it ended up badly than I think it will go.

“I don’t know,” I say and let out a sigh before I continue, “I guess I’m just worried that if I made a move and tell her I like her, it might ruin her friendship with Liam,” I say and run a hand through my curls.

“I bet it probably wouldn’t ruin it, Haz. If I were in your shoes, I’d go for it and tell her how I feel, you never know until you try, mate,” Louis said and places his hand on my shoulder. I just nod in response.

You never know until you try… I couldn’t get Louis’ phrase off my mind. I guess it is true; you never do until you try. That is definitely how it worked out for each of us when we went and auditioned for the X-Factor. If we never went on that stage and sang our hearts out, we wouldn’t be in the spot we are now, the biggest boy band in the world.

That is it when I decided I was going to tell her. I really do like her, I’ll admit it. I really do and I won’t know if she feels the same unless I buck up and tell her myself. I don’t really care if it’s only been barely three days since I met her. No one can help who they like, especially who they are in love with. Its life and we are all free to do so as we please, because it’s our life and we can live it and enjoy it how we want to. It isn’t up to anyone but us. We can make it happen.

Most fans and paparazzi think I’m one to break girls’ hearts but I’ve gotten my heart broken plenty of times from many girls growing up ever since I began dating when I was fourteen. Yes, I was fourteen, so what. I wanted something more than just a one-time fling, an actual relationship with someone who loves me just as much as I love them.

After a while, I tell them I was going to head up to bed. They tell me they will see me tomorrow. Tomorrow, just thinking about that word made my mind race with images of Madison. I was kind of nervous at the fact I was going to tell her I liked her. I hope I don’t scare her off. Scaring her off is the last thing I wanted to do. Ever since I first set eyes on her, I wanted to know more about her and more importantly, I wanted her in my life.

I decide to shoot her a goodnight text and tell her I was looking forward to spending tomorrow with her again. Grabbing my phone, I unlock my phone and go to my messages so I could send her one. Tapping on her name, I begin to type: I had a great day with you, love. Goodnight beautiful. See you tomorrow –
harry ;) xx

That night, I can’t help but dream of Madison and the fact I was going to tell her how I felt tomorrow.

The next morning, I woke up around eleven and decided to start getting ready for the day. I send Madison a ‘Good morning beautiful. I’ll pick you up around noon. Can’t wait to see you again – harry ;) x’ before I make my way out to the bathroom in the hall so I could take a shower. After my shower, I wrap a towel around my waist and dry my hair with another clean towel before I make my way back in to my room.

I decide to wear a plaid shirt along with some jeans and my favorite white Chuck Taylors. After I dry my body, I put my boxers on before slipping my legs in to my jeans and zip them up and begin to put on my plaid shirt and leave the top two buttons undone. As I stare at my reflection in the mirror, I begin to tame my messy curls that were still damp from my shower.

Before too long, I finished getting ready and slipped my silver Rolex watch on my wrist before I grab my phone. I was excited yet nervous since I was actually going to tell Madison how I felt today while we are together.

As soon as I step off of the bottom step, my phone buzzes. I pull it out and press the home button to see a text from her. I smile widely as I begin to read it. I swear, what the hell is she doing to me?! Whatever it was, I liked this feeling, I really do.

I type in my pass code so I can read her message. I smile to myself as I begin to read her message. It read: I’ll be waiting for you to get here. ;) I can’t wait to see you either. I’ll see you soon ;)

After I respond back to her, I slip my phone back in to my pocket after I check the time. It was 10:50; I had a little over a half hour before I was going to pick her up. What should I do to pass the time? I make my way into the kitchen to make myself a nice cup of tea.

Once I make myself some tea, I carry it in to the living room and set it on the coffee table careful not to spill it. I grab the remote and turn the telly on so I could pass some of the time. I begin to scroll through the channels to find something good to watch since there was hardly anything worth-watching. Soon, I come across a newer episode of Ridiculousness that I haven’t seen yet.

Next time I check my phone, I realize it is already 11:45. I stand up and slip my phone back in to my pocket before I grab the now empty cup I used for my tea and take it into the kitchen and set it in the sink once I rinse it out.

After I rinse it out and wipe my hands on the nearest hand towel I could find, I make my way in the living room. I made sure I had my key to the flat along with the key to my Range Rover before I head out the door and lock it in place behind me. I walk two doors down and come to a stop when I arrive at the front door of Liam and Danielle’s flat, where Madison was staying. I knock on the door once and take a step back while I wait for someone to answer.

A few minutes later, the door swings open to reveal Madison standing there in a royal blue floral printed outfit that showed off her tanned sun-kissed bare shoulders and good amount of her legs, her brown wavy hair pulled back and strappy shoes on her feet. Harry, calm yourself, mate! I think to myself to keep from blurting out a dirty-minded remark.

“H-hey,” I mumble with a wide smile as I stare at her taking in her beauty. I try to keep my eyes from trailing up and down her body. She was too perfect, and I wanted her all to myself. That is when it hit me; I am going to tell her how I feel while we’re out. Just the thought of it made me go crazy.

“Hey,” she mutters back with a cute smile playing on her lips.

“How are you? You look nice, by the way,” I tell her and notice her cheeks darken a bit. She was real cute when she blushes, I had to admit.

“Good,” she replies with a smile.

“I’m glad,” I reply with a smile before I continue, “So, uh, you ready to go?” I ask as I look at her with a small smile.

“Yeah, I’m ready,” she says with a small smile as I take a step back so she could shut the door behind her after she walks out. I wrap one of my arms around her as I lead her down to the lot where my car was parked. Once we get there, I unlock it with my key.

I open up the passenger side door for her, being the gentleman I was. “Thanks,” she tells me and smiles a bit.

“No problem love,” I tell her as she grabs hold of my hand to steady herself as she climbs into my car. Once she was in, I shut the door and hurry over to the driver’s side. After I get in, I shut the door before I put on my seat belt and stick the key in the ignition and look over at Madison.

“Where are we going?” she asks looking at me, her brows furrowed as she spoke. I can’t help but smile a bit as I look at her.

“Wherever you want to go, I’m fine with anywhere,” I tell her with a smile.

Honestly, I didn’t care where we went, I am just glad I get to be with her. As she spoke, I couldn’t help but let my mind drift off as I begin to think of where we should go. Food; that is all I wanted right now. That cup of tea I had earlier wasn’t going to hold me for much longer.

“Well, I’m hungry, what do you say we go get something to eat and then go walk around a bit?” I question her with one of my wide smiles as I look at her.

“Sounds like a plan, I’m hungry myself–starving actually,” she replies back with a light chuckle as she looks at me and moves a stray piece of hair away from her eyes. I give her a nod as I start the engine and begin to pull out of the spot where I was parked.

“What d’ya feel like havin’, babe? Italian? French? Chinese?” I asked as I pull out on to the streets and come to a stop at a red light.

“I really feel like having Chinese, it’s been quite a while since I’ve had it,” she exclaims as I glance over at her and give her a swift nod of my head and a smile.

I turn my head so I could keep my eyes on the road as the light changes signaling we could finally go again. I begin to make my way over to the nearest Chinese place that was really good. We soon arrive at Shanghai Chi-town, which is a really good place with good food. After I park the car, I slip my sunglasses over my eyes to somewhat disguise myself from the crazy paparazzi I knew that was around. I go around and open the door so I could help Madison out.

“C’mon Madison, let’s get inside before they figure we’re out here,” I say as I grab her hand and help her out of the car and wrap a firm arm around her waist as I lead her up to the front of the restaurant. Shanghai Chi-town is a take-out place but you can also go inside and eat too. We make our way inside without being interrupted by the crazy press who is known to hide anywhere.

I’m sure they’ll spot us sooner or later. At least once I wanted to have time for myself and spend it in peace with someone without someone interrupting. That is one of the many downfalls of being as famous as the lads and I are now since we are members of the “biggest boy band in the world” now, according to every article I’ve seen.

After we ate our food, I decided to take her to Hyde Park so we could walk around a bit. It also made me kind of nervous since I was going to finally tell her how I felt. After a while of talking and enjoying each other’s company, I feel like it is the perfect time to ask her out and tell her how I feel.

There was just one thing that won’t stop playing back in my mind, the fact I didn’t want to ruin her friendship with Liam. They’ve been friends all their lives practically since they grew up together, but it wouldn’t hurt to see where our relationship could go, would it? I think it would be worth the risk because I am willing to see where this would go. Since she came a few days ago and when I first set my eyes on her, I knew there was something special between us.

I can’t help but smile as I look at her. Some loose strands of her hair fell to cover up her face. As she reaches forward to push the strand behind her ear, I beat her to it and lightly grab hold of it and put it behind her ear. She was so beautiful; I couldn’t keep my eyes off her. I can’t help but notice the soft hint of a blush on her cheeks as she shifts her gaze away from mine and down to the grass below our feet.

“S-sorry for staring, I-I just, you’re so beautiful,” I tell her as I reach forward and take her small hand in my big one. I slowly begin to brush my thumb over her soft skin as I look up at her, a soft smile on my lips.

“Its fine, you’re pretty handsome yourself, Harry,” she says with a smile as she looks up to meet my gaze, her brown eyes staring into my green ones.

“I…I-I’ve been wanting to tell you something…” I question as I look at her, feeling my cheeks heat up as I stare at her, awaiting a reply.

“About what?” she asks as she looks at me, a warm smile on her lips.

I take a deep breath before I open my mouth to speak, “Ever since I first met you a few days ago when you first got here, I’ve discovered the fact you’re in my every thought and all I think about. What I’m trying to say is…I like you, Madison, really, I do, and I’d really like to get to know you better. Will you go out with me? Does this coming Monday sound alright?” I finish with a wide smile.

There was silence between us a few moments before she opened her mouth to speak. “Harry…” she trailed off in a serious manner. It caught me off guard, making me feel like I must have said something horribly wrong.

“Yeah?” I question, afraid of what her answer might be. Shit, did I say something wrong? Hope to God I didn’t say anything stupid, I think to myself as I try not to expect the worse to happen.

“I…I really like you too! I’d like to if you’ll have me,” she responds with a big smile before swinging her arms around me pulling me in to a big hug.

I smile as I wrap my arms around her and hold her close against me for a minute before pulling away. I couldn’t stop smiling as we part from the hug. When we parted, I even gave her a kiss on the cheek. As she looked back at me, I noticed she was trying so hard to keep herself from breaking out into a wide grin. Today turned out great, better than I expected it to! I couldn’t wait for that date.
