50. Her Cat's Name

She should be dressed by now. She really should. It was already 10am. But she just couldn't get herself to even consider leaving.
Elena sighed. The interview was at noon. She had time. But she didn't even sleep last night, let alone consider her wardrobe. Why was she even going? She probably wouldn't get accepted for the job anyway.
Her mother had pushed her to apply, nearly shoving the application down her throat on various occassions. It's not that she was unemployed; her mother seemed to thinks he didn't make enough money.
"I'm fine!" Elena had argued, growling.
"Just send in the application. It can't hurt," her mother reasoned.
Finally, after a dismissing her mother at least 10 times, she snatched the application and filled it out, shoving is back in her mother's face ten minutes later. Her mother had blinked in surprise, but everything was filled out completely correctly.
Elena got the phone call yesterday while she was making dinner. They asked her to come in for an interview the next day. Unsure of what to do, she simply said yes.
She didn't even know what kind of company it was. For all she knew, it could be a nuclear arms maker.
Sighing, she finally decided to make some breakfast. Still in her dressing robe, she fried a few eggs and ate them silently. Her cat made up the lack of noise, purring against her leg.
"Morning, Castiel," she smiled, rubbing his head. She placed her dishes in the sink with a soft clank and opened a can of food for her mewling pet. "Oh relax," she grinned at him. He began wolfing down his meal before it was even on the linoleum.
Elena sighed. "Well, I guess I should get ready, huh?" she admitted to Castiel. "No harm in an interview."
