Take Me Back to summer ’09 (One Direction Fan Fiction)

Chapter 2 – JFWCB (Just Friends With Cleaning Benefits)

My giggling simmered down as he smiled at me, completely clueless as to why I was snickering at him, “Your mom left me some chores for us to do,” he stated politely (was he always polite?) and reached into his back pocket before he let his hand retreat and hold up a long list, words clearly written and bolded on the paper.

I groaned and reached out my hand to take the list from the shaggy brown haired kid staring at it intently. Liam’s brown eyes glowed and sparkled with a challenging look. “I guess I’ll get started,” I grumbled and wanted to stomp away like a pissed off puppy, just as my mom had earlier that morning.

“You don’t have to do it alone; your mom’s paying him me to help you. I think she knows that you won’t do it anyways,” he declared with a sparkle of humor in his eyes. I beamed at him in a grinning fashion before bopping my head up and down quickly.

“Let’s put on some music and get started while the twerps sleep!” I stated quickly, and slid over to the kitchen in my socks. Looking around the big kitchen, which was black and white – everything – with a very expensive looking granite counter top, some cabinets, and a blindingly clean fridge, all so neat, of course, that was my mother for you, always keeping everything pristine.

I spotted my docking station on top of the clean microwave, taking it off the plug; I slid back out to our living room where Liam was standing. The living room matched the kitchen, as well as the rest of the house. I placed the docking station on a side table and plugged it in, playing my Jeffree Star collection of music, Mr. Diva started playing and I almost immediately began dancing around like the huge egomaniac I am and always will be.

I heard Liam chuckle at me and I beamed at him, “You have some moves, where did you learn to dance?” he questioned me; I – once again – beamed at the brown, shaggy haired boy. I saw the sparkle in his eyes as I moved melodically with the raspy music Jeffree Star produced.

“I had this boyfriend, always wanted to go out and dance, he was very classy. I hated it, so we broke up. I loved to dance, I realized that then, I just hated that stupid classy like dancing, so, I enrolled in a few classes, that weren’t so classy,” I explained with a small grin.

He bobbed his head up and down at me, “You’ll have to teach me sometime,” he said and smiled at me, I grinned back, nodding my head a little bit.

“We should get started on these chores,” I uttered before going to grab the tools. And, with Jeffree Star blaring in the background, we cleaned. I could tell he didn’t care much for Jeffree Star, but I loved Jeffree, so that didn’t matter too much to me.

As we scrubbed, vacuumed, and mopped, I taught him a few basic moves. Later that night when my mother got home, we were both laughing as we made dinner for my two twin brothers. Liam guided them to the table and I showed them where the plate was. They couldn’t see where it was themselves due to a birth defect. They were blind, and would be for the rest of their lives.

My mom stared at us and looked around the house, “Well, Liam, it looks like you motivated her to do a good job, I hope you didn’t mind doing this! I would like you to do it again, since you helped her with the work so well,” my mother stated after looking around the house, she checked to make sure everything was pristinely clean. It was quite grating to be frank.

“I’ll be back tomorrow then, really, I had a great time. She’s an amazing dancer,” Liam exaggerated my dancing abilities and I reddened in the face. Liam chuckled at the maddening blush that raged on my cheeks.

My mother smiled at both of us, “And you even made the boys spaghetti, how kind. Well, Liam, here is your pay! Tomorrow at ten again, please?” she queried him and he bopped it head at her before saying goodbye to all of us and leaving.

“Bye, Liam, see you tomorrow,” I shouted after him, I heard him laugh as he walked out my front door. He seems like a nice person, but I don’t want to get too attached to soon, I mean, I just met the boy, only friends. I thought to myself.

My mother grinned happily at me and her grin all but made me want to grin back, “What?” I asked her and she merely beamed at me. I was tangled by her grinning smile. If you could call it a smile, it was more of a leer.

“He seems like a nice boy, and he’s totally your type!” my mother gushed. I frowned at her, waving my hand dismissively at my mother. She beamed at me once more.

“Whatever you say, dear,” she said in a joking manner and I couldn’t help but laugh.
