Murder case.

Martha Shaw is the best person to have on the case.
Eight murders and counting. All by the same person.
At the same time every single day.
Martha only has a short time before the murdered kills again, and it could be her that it's after.

17. The meeting

The next day, Martha woke at nine. She had barely slept at all during the night, and because she had woken so early, she was more tired than ever before.

She stood up, went for a quick shower and jumped into some clothes.

She phoned the station.

" Hello?" asked a familiar voice.

" Hi, it's Martha," she said.

" Oh, hey! It's Paul! When will you be here so we can continue with our own little private case?" Paul whispered.

" Yeah.. I'm not coming into work today," coughed Martha. " I'm very ill, sorry. Please tell the crew to try and continue with the case if they need too."

" Martha? Are you sure this is you? You aren't a quitter because of some silly little tummy bug?"

" Paul, I'm sick," even when she said it twice, there was still a hint of lies in her voice.

" Okay.." Paul put down the phone.

She hated lying, hated it so much that it nearly made her sick when she lied.

After Martha ate she went out to her car and sat in it for a while, watching a mother pull her daughter along with her. She remembered when her and her brother were like that... then she thought to herself that she had to meet Mick and Joshua, just to save her brother.

It seemed everything reminded her of him. When she turned on the radio, Jake Little was presenting, Jake was her brothers name. She saw a huge, labrador pull its owner throught the street. Her and her brother had owned a labrador. She listened to ' little talks' by ' Of Monsters and Men'  was playing on the radio, Jake's favourite song.

Before she knew it, Martha was driving towards the barber shop. She pulled up outside, got out of her car and walked round the back.

This was it.
