Murder case.

Martha Shaw is the best person to have on the case.
Eight murders and counting. All by the same person.
At the same time every single day.
Martha only has a short time before the murdered kills again, and it could be her that it's after.

6. Nothing so far

After Isla left the station, the four detectives sat around a table and waited for the officers from the high office to come down and join them.

Four men and one lady came into the room and sat down.

The men looked as if they had just been given twenty cups of coffee, they're eyes were so big. They all had spiky stubble growing out of their faces and were all wearing uniforms. Two of them were definitely over forty, whilst the other two were under 30. The lady was a tall girl with red hair tied back into a high ponytail. She had a lot of make-up on and she looked extremely tired. Her uniform was exeptionally clean, but was her whole look was ruined because she didn't have even the smallest smile, whilst the men had.

" Officers," started Nick. " We are so glad you could join us. As you know, there was a crime yesterday, a woman was murdered and the murderer had left a note."

" What else have you got?" asked the lady.

" Well, Karen, we know that the murderer is going to strike again, tomorrow at one. And other than that, nothing so far." said Paul, looking at Martha.

" Nothing!?" said one of the older men. His badge said his name was Ian Milton.

" Well, Mr. Milton, it has been a very hard case, the murderer left no evidence at all, no fingerprints, no weapon, nothing.." Martha said.

" If there had been any fingerprints, we would have found them," Laura added.

" And who are you?" Karen asked sharply.

" Em.. I'm Laura, new detective. Not really too important, but I help.."

" New. Why does Ewan decide to let all the new ones on the important cases?" Ian said.

" We're not new," said Martha, pointing to herself, Paul and Nick. " And Laura helps us with paperwork."

" We are not here for paperwork," said one of the younger men. " We are here to solve a crime, but since you people are already on that, I guess we will just have to wait until this killer strikes again."

Martha looked him up and down, and he saw her doing that.

" Kevin Brown," he said, putting out his hand.

Martha shook it and then told him her name.

Kevin was quite small, ginger hair, big lips.

" Right, it's getting late, I'm off, see you tomorrow," said Nick.

" Yeah, me too," said Paul.

Laura and Karen followed behind them, so did the two unknown officers. Kevin and Ian said goodbye to Martha and then they left too. It was the end of a stressful day, but Martha didn't leave the station until nine o'clock, even though her shift finished at five.

Martha looked through all the papers, she studied the note, she looked at the barber shop card that Paul had found and she also searched the internet for where the shop was. It was only a few miles down from the station.

She went home afterwards and fell into bed. She slept until nine the next morning. Fortunatly, she didn't have to be in until twelve, then all the officers, detectives and inspectors were going to drive round the streets at twelve, searching for anything that looked suspicious. Because there would be another murder at one o'clock.
