Titanic; on the other side of the Iceberg

This is about Titanic, except it is told from someone who was not originally on the ship! I used all of my great knowledge on ships and the ocean and Titanic to write the story.

5. Day 2

On day 2 of our sailing, right around when we crossed the Richardson Hills, I was assigned the worst part of my job. I was assigned to fix a scratch on the outside of the hull, on the port side. So I had to be dangling from a rope that was hung on the port side railing, with my fixing gear, fixing the scratch. And I had to be careful not to drop the items, and I did not have permission to wrap the rope around me, so I was holding on with one hand and fixing with the other. When I was done, I yelled up to the man on deck to haul me up. But while he was bringing me up, I slipped and fell. I would have died if he didn't see me and threw me a life preserver. Then one of the strong men on the ship, Edward, fished me out of the water while the men held his legs like a human chain. I was freezing afterward, so I was excused from my job to rest and get warm.
