Forever & Always, Zayn

"I'll always love you, you have to know that. But, it's just that, well, it's hard when you're loving someone with all your heart, and they don't love you back. You, of all people, should understand this."

24. The Call

   Kristina's POV

Zayn laid on his back, facing the ceiling again. "Oh." was all he said.

   "Hey," I said softly.

He looked at me sideways. "Hmm?"

Zayn sighed. And then laughed. Laughed. It started as a small chuckle then grew to a stomach-clutching one. I joined him, and soon we were both gasping for air. Then Zayn got serious again. "But really, I meant it, or, I mean it." He was on his side facing me again, his eyes staring into mine.

I sighed. "It's just that-" I was cut off as he kissed me, deeper than ever before. His arms came around me and I broke the kiss, resting my head on his chest. I sighed- I sure had been doing that a lot today.

My phone started ringing then, vibrating on the table next to the bed. I leaned over, still in Zayn's arms, and grabbed it. As soon as my fingers closed around it thought, whoever was calling hung up. I leaned back into Zayn, clutching my phone as  he kissed the top of my head. I didn't recongnize the number, so I put my phone down. The second it lost my touch, it rang. One, two, three times. I glanced at Zayn, and he shrugged. So I picked it up. Same thing happened. Again.

"Ooh," Zayn said, laughing, mimicking a ghost.

I hit him lightly, playfully, on the arm. "Don't scare me." I giggled. When I put my phone down it started ringing again. "Damn thing," I muttered, quickly tapping the on button to answer the call as I pressed it up against my ear. "Hello?" I answered.
