When The Concert Ticket Became A Beautiful Memory

A 17 year old version of me is in love with Black Veil Brides. Her experience is told below.

Note: I do not own Black Veil Brides, Baskin Robins, or the First Midwest Bank Ampitheatre. I'm lucky I can afford a pack of gum, let alone big names like them.

4. Ice Cream Meltdown

"I really want some ice cream," declares CC. "I will die without it."

"There's a Baskin Robins really close to here," I say. "I could show you guys. Or we could just go to a store. Or-"

"Calm down. It's just food," Ashley laughs.

"You guys are my idols though. You've made me who I am today. I was tormented by my own thoughts and your music was my only escape. I don't even know how many times "Saviour" kept me sane." I see Andy come out of the bathroom and fix his shirt out of the corner of my eye.

"If you tell the driver where to go, we'll get ice cream," Jinxx says. Suddenly I forget everything. I'm only able to nod and point where to go.

I'm freaking out. I'm with five heroes, after their concert, hanging our with me. We're getting ice cream. I don't know how many calories are in Baskin Robins foods, and asking would be suspicious.

I'm hyperventilating on the inside, but manage to keep my cool on the outside.

No one recognizes the boys, since they aren't in their war paint anymore. The girls at the counter don't really look like Black Veil Brides fans though. They give us a weird look, then proceed to put on their minimum-wage smiles.

I go last, hoping they'll be too focused on toppings to notice me getting a diet pop.

"She'll have what I'm having," Andy says. He looks at me. "Don't worry about paying."

Aw, he's paying, I think to myself, but then I see that what Andy ordered was a large rocky road in a chocolate waffle cone. Chocolate syrup and crushed Oreos get added to the top of my ice cream.

We sit, me between Jake and Ashley, with the others across. They're all talking and laughing, while I sit here, staring at this beast of a dessert. A small spoonful passes my lips.

"It's not gonna bite you," Andy tells me. I just continue to stare at my now melting ice cream.

"You're too tiny. You need that ice cream," Jinxx chimes in. They're all staring at me now. They're nodding.

I eat a spoonful so they might look away. "What are you talking about? I still got fat on me. I'm fine."

"Lexx, you've eaten two spoonfuls," Andy says quietly. Everything hits me with those words and I tear up. I tilt my head down so my hair covers my face, just in case my eyes deceive me.

Jake nudges my side. They're pressuring me to eat. I can't.

I slowly take another bite. The ice cream is getting soupy. Andy claps twice when I swallow my ice cream.

"I can't eat this," I finally say. I push away the food, pull up my knees to my chest, and rest my head on my knees. "I'm sorry."

"Just a few more bites," Andy says. He slides the ice cream back to me.

Jinxx's phone rings; he gets up, pulls Jake with him, and goes outside. Ashley and CC start getting into deep conversation. Only Andy focuses on me.

"Andy," I start off. "I wrote a song that could feature our voices really well."

"Lexx, we can talk about this song after you eat some more." He looks straight in my eyes and I melt a little. "When was the last time you ate?"

I put a spoonful in and let it melt. Please drop the question. His eyes are intently fixed on mine. "A couple days ago."

He shakes his head. "Food is good. You're beautiful and you need to eat." Andy leans forward and I gaze into his beautiful blue eyes. "Please."

He watches me eat a few more spoonfuls. He moves next to me. "You wouldn't happen to have a copy of this song, would you?"
